We booked this hotel as we have stayed here many times, so we were very disappointed to receive an email 2 days before our holiday to inform us they no longer serve breakfast. This is one of the reasons we like booking this hotel as I dont like looking for places to eat

Excellent experience and we will definitely return to the Lauriston -- the location is superb.
Pros:

We were so pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome we received - every employee we dealt with were the same - friendly and helpful. Although the hotel has stopped serving food, the bar area is open all day and into the night and is comfortable and serves coffee, bar snacks and all manner of drinks.

There are cafes and pubs very close for meals and the hotel provides a boxed continental breakfast, for a very reasonable fee, which they deliver to the room. Excellent solution to no longer offering meals in their dining room.

There's a lovely garden area with tables and we look forward to having a drink out there in the summer.

Our room was clean and very comfortable -

Cons:

We have no complaints about the hotel - Parking is somewhat limited but we were able to obtain a spot as we arrived midday -- we scoped out the town parking lot about 2 blocks away and we can park there easily --

Hôtel très central, proche de la mer.

Cons:

Hôtel vieillot. Pourrait être modernisé. Le parking privé est vite rempli et la seule option est le grand parking payant face à la mer, un peu plus loin.
Nettement trop cher pour la qualité

Recommend! Nice stay.
Pros:

Ideal location, and free parking a definite bonus. Really friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable, no bath and always enjoy a soak when on a stay away, but that's not really a complaint. No hairdryer or iron in room. Hotel overall could do with a lick of paint and TLC on the outside, and inside is very dated, but obvious rooms are being spruced up. Very nice stay overall. Would recommend and would stay again.

Nothing really, but a hairdryer in the room would be a good touch. Enjoyed our overnight stay.
