Pleasant and comfortable stay
Pros:

A friendly place to stay, we loved the well filled bar, plenty of choice including a couple of ales. Has a large beer garden, our room was large, clean and comfortable. It’s in good location for Edinburgh Airport, would certainly return.

Reasonably close to the airport & good for an overnight stay until we picked up our rental vehicle.
Pros:

Plenty of room in our room. We could get a pretty late check-in because the pub was still open. We were able to leave our bags there until we picked up our hire car in the afternoon. Responded quickly to my questions. Walking distance to the train & 25 min into Waverley Station was great too.

Cons:

There was no lift to our room so we had to carry our bags up the stairs

Great overnight night stay, close to the airport for our early morning flight
Pros:

Very happy with our stay here. Lovely spotlessly clean room and ensuite. Lovely bedding and comfortable bed.
Lively bar with lots of locals.
Excellent meal on the restaurant
All staff very efficient and friendly

great little country hotel very convenient for airport. Super helpful staff.
Cons:

We didn't realise that the hotel also had a pub and hotel below. Its an old and relatively small building, so could gave been quieter. Not a deal breaker, and offset by very helpful owner/manager (?).

Great stay in Uphall!
Pros:

Location to the airport was good and the hotel was really nice! The young staff members were all friendly and helpful and our meal at the restaurant was excellent!

Good value hotel handy for the dog show event we were attending
Pros:

Rooms good value and had everything required. Restaurant also good and handy.

Cons:

Toilet over the hallway a little inconvenient. Parking tricky when busy as it’s just by traffic lights

Very disappointed I banged my head several times on the ceiling.
Pros:

If I was to be honest very little the meals were very good but that was something paid for separately

Cons:

There was very little head room to stand because it was in the attic I bang my head several times and the only way to stand up straight was to put my head in the window area to avoid bang my head on the ceiling while using the toilet. This was a room more for a student then for a person in there 60's,

Good value with great staff.
Pros:

Clean and comfortable with welcoming and friendly staff.

Cons:

I was unfortunate to stay on a Monday night, the one night of the week that the restaurant is closed. After a long day, I had been looking forward to checking in and unwinding, rather than having to go back out to choose from the various takeaway options (admittedly nearby). Also disappointed that breakfast is only available at weekends, although I suspected that may be the case when I booked.
