Absolutely brilliant
Hearing dogs for deaf people had a charity day at the five bells this Saturday! The service was excellent all day Lily , Lily and Stuart were the stars . Lily who organised it all was brilliant! A marvellous day
Well done to you all and THANKS!
The room was so nicely decorated. The bed was super comfortable
The toilet didn’t flush properly
Room, bar, breakfast and location
No air con, but fan provided. Don't think its good that you cannot sit in bar area after bar closes. We met up with friends and were forced to go to bed early when we wanted to stay and chat. Not really clear in the write up and not really good enough. We meet every year and won't be booking to stay again, shame as hotel itself snd breakfast was lovely
Stayed at the property before
Morning staff were good and it’s a good location for my needs .
I’ve stayed at this location before ( but an upstairs room ) I stayed in number 3 room and constant door banging from room 5 and the general main door was indeed not the best . With being just off the main walk way ….. the light was a massive issue for me personally as I do like a really dark room so towels needed to be placed under the door . With arriving at 1800 I was very eager to unpack and get some food and that’s where my stay became uncomfortable to a point .
Staff behind the bar didn’t seem too bothered about how things looked around the bar or eating areas with empty glasses on empty tables etc . The pub wasn’t particularly busy ( maybe 20 people in total ) so when I ordered a classic burger and chips it was delivered 40 minutes later with stone cold chips and a lukewarm Pattie , if that wasn’t bad enough the food actually go placed down infront of me with the previous occupants of the tables empty crisp packets and the table that’s messy and sticky that my napkin which were wrapped round my knife and folk actually stuck to the table . It was then my gaze was drawn to multiple tables with empty glasses on and the occupants of the table long gone . The staff seemed oblivious and obviously too engrossed with their own conversations . This experience has left me let down from the previous good experience and left me craving some sort of refund to reflect the experience.
Atmosphere.
Nice room, helpful staff and nice food
En-suite hand basin quite small.
The room was unbearably hot and had no ventilation. It is a hot summer but the secondary glazing to the windows meant you couldn't let any cooler air in at night. There was a fan but all this did was circulate the hot air.
Staff said they couldn't do anything as it was exceptional weather. The room (Reservoir Room 15) should not be let if it can't be cooled and ventilated to a safe temperature.
Welcoming and helpful staff. Room nicely furnished, large and spotless bathroom. Lovely breakfast. Plenty of parking.
No aircon, but large fan was provided which helped.
Lovely property in beautiful surroundings .food & service were excellent . Room was great value . My stay was during a heatwave so it was very hot in the room; however we had a fan in the room And I came prepared ( with extra hand held fans)
Loved the fluffy white towels !
Breakfast was great & plenty of time for checkout .
Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
Nothing . Loved the property .
Really friendly staff, lovely old pub with good food, room was great, clean and a good size.
Bathroom was a bit small
Decent size rooms, in a nice quiet area . Very friendly staff for check in and dining
A warm welcome at the bar. The room was small but with everything well laid out. The fan provided was very effective in keeping the temperature down. Breakfast was nice.
The room was somewhat tired with rotting windows. Given the price it felt like poor value for money.
