The Greyhound Hotel

This should not be on your listing as a hotel, we checked in went to our room it wasn't ready we walking in to someone else's mess allocated another room which was poor at very best!

Horrible place

Booked room payed . But when we came and see it was awful. Reality Far from photos. All smell (stinking) molds , towels wet,and hair on it (looks like somebody used it before),old rusted bathroom, damp bedding,too many mirrors looks like cameras. Daughter allergic so we did not stayed in it we looked at new hotel. Asked for refund ,but laughing and said we not do(can't money back)refunds.

No central heating and no fridge and the bathroom door the lock was not working the toilet flush was not very good.

Did not come close to description. No soap in bathroom. Free toiletries was just a sachet of shampoo. TV didn't work. Free wifi intermittent and weak. Toilet didn't flush properly. Bed was a thin mattress on solid wood base. Lift out of order. Tea/coffee making (for double room) had a kettle and only one mug, 3 tea bags, 1 coffee sachet, no milk or teaspoon. No socket by bed.
Room was nothing like the main photos. Stained carpet, curtains half hanging off rail. Cigarette burn on windowsill and corridor smelled of smoke.

There was no shower screen in the bathroom

It needs a lot of work and there is a smell in the hallways.

Very dated decor, not “refurbished” as the advertisement suggests.
Lifts are out of service throughout the whole hotel, so if you have difficulty with stairs or long walks this is a problem.
Pictures on the website are heavily filtered and taken from flattering angles and lighting as in reality nothing looks like this.
Car park half flooded, littered with rubbish & bins from restaurant/pub not even kept behind an enclosure.
Lots of noise from people including children at all hours including middle of the night.
There is also a cats & dogs home nearby in Leigh which kept us awake all night with barking, windows not soundproof even if the ones that did open and close.
There was WiFi but struggled to get decent service, tv wouldn’t connect to this.
CCTV cameras everywhere which actually makes you feel uncomfortable, seems staff use these to keep an eye on the place rather than actually leaving the reception desk.

Finally…to top all of this off, we paid considerably more than we should but when we left in the morning it seemed people were sleeping rough outside the pub front entrance and they probably had a better rest than we did.

Avoid at all cost, there are better hostels for the homeless.
