Derwent Room Castleton.
Pros:

Location was great, staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was great. Room was clean on arrival. Loved the decor in the pub toilets.

Cons:

Shower was broken, shower floor was exremely slippy with no bathmat. Dangerous in our opinion. Bar area although welcoming was not comfortable the cushions could do with new padding. Unfortunately toilet facilities were upstairs. Not good for older people who struggle to walk far. Food prices were expensive but the food was good.
We are large people and 4 pister beds are known to be small so not really comfirtable for us. Instructions for how to use the shower would have been good as we were not told we needed to put the red switch on first.

Good value. Warm welcome. Comfortable stay. Would like to go again.
Pros:

Perfect location. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. The live music on Saturday night was a bonus. Would definitely go back

Cons:

The free parking was essential for the location but when we returned after a day out on Saturday the car park was full. We had to go elsewhere for an hour or so and keep checking to see if a space had occurred.

Extremely disappointing. Felt ripped off.
Pros:

Location good, bed very comfortable, room was warm, coffee/tea etc plentiful. Breakfast on 2nd day was lovely.

Cons:

Incredibly noisy. Despite my request for a quiet room, I had the room directly above the bar and there was a band on saturday night, so loud! Staff were unfriendly and unaccommodating. They wouldn't do us an early breakfast on the 1st day despite what they say on the menu, staff except one lady were unfriendly, rooms weren't clean, I asked for a quiet room and got the complete opposite! So many places around were much nicer. Poor value for money. They advertised as 'luxury ensure rooms'. Far from it. Whole place needs a makeover and deep clean.

Overnight stay on a walking trip in the Peaks.
Pros:

This place was perfect for our group of walkers exploring the Peaks for a week. We needed an overnight stay and were able to get 6 rooms booked for the night in Castleton, for a reasonable price, meaning no one had to share. This is not luxurious, but served our purpose perfectly as we could enjoy the evening in Castleton, get decent beer and a good breakfast to set us up for the next day.

Cons:

Small bathroom. Slightly tired standard of decoration.

A comfortable stay, but improvements could be made to make it a full five stars.
Pros:

Staff were friendly, breakfast was good. Good central location

Cons:

My window had a very poor seal around it, which let a lot of cold air into the room. An electric heater was provided in the room, but I wouldn't say it was sufficient. The Wi-Fi was very patchy, perhaps this was because it was on the top floor, but I wouldn't say it was very reliable Wi-Fi.

Nice but needs improvement
Pros:

Good location. Good sized room. Nice shower.

Cons:

Beds were so soft if you sat on the end you just fell off. The table was in sections and if you leant on it it seemed to tip open. No chair to sit on.

Great central location, friendly staff, decent food, but let down by shabby room.
Pros:

Central location
Friendly staff
Breakfast good
Nearby free parking

Cons:

Our room was very tired and shabby.
Dirty tile grout. Floor in bathroom had dirt on it especially around the toilet.
Toilet roll holder falling off the wall. All things that could be easily fixed.
The whole hotel would benefit from a refurbishment.
