Ideal for village centre and exploring surrounding areas
Pros:

All the staff were friendly, lots of areas to sit inside or outside. Clean fresh rooms and tidy pool relaxation areas. Good options on food including vegetarian, rooms available on ground floor plus lift to other level.

Cons:

Area outside room needed fence fixing but still lovely to have own area (little inn)

Pleasant well located hotel
Pros:

Nice shower (rainfall and powerful hand held)
Drying room.
Breakfast well cooked, although buffet normally preferred than the order main at table that they have.
Great central Grasmere location.

Cons:

Parking a chore, although they always found us a space locally.

Pros:

Lovely setting but lack of hospitality means we wouldn’t return.
Pros:

The hotel is comfortable and decorated nicely. Being situated in the village gives easy access to shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Cons:

The reception team were friendly and welcoming.

We found each welcome to the restaurant/breakfast awkward (a simple smile and hello makes a huge difference) and service slow and inattentive. The team keep themselves busy but there is a lack of leadership ensuring everything is running as it should be. For example, we waited 15 minutes for our mains to be cleared away and then another 20 minutes for someone to offer dessert or another drink/coffee. We eventually had to call someone over to order. Instead the staff were focused on resting the tables for breakfast. Not just frustrating as a customer to be ignored but potential missed revenue for the hotel. The welcome and service was also an issue at breakfast.

Unfortunately we had a terrible sleep on the Saturday evening caused by the noise of loud drunken wedding guests in the street until 1am followed by a guest running around in the room above us until 2.30am.

Won't be returning, no parking
Pros:

Pretty views of mountains over the road. Nice walk around village.

Cons:

No parking, expect to fight for road parking after a long journey or pay £10 other side of village to park car in middle of nowhere. Rude staff who didn't care about this.
Room small, bathroom toilet roll behind you as you are wedged next to shower screen to use the toilet and no room for a holder. No shelf in bathroom anywhere just small sink on a step.
Wifi not available in room you have to go downstairs.
Placed above smoking area of pub and hot day so window was open as no fans.
Breakfast was x1 hash brown, x1 sausage, x1 bacon x1 fried egg and beans chucked on a plate.

Very enjoyable, well priced escape to the heart of the Lake District
Pros:

Fantastic location in the heart of Grasmere. Very friendly staff and we enjoyed the swimming pool with our 6 month old son

Cons:

The parking is very limited; most of the time there were no spaces at all (some cars didn’t seem to move all week from the Monday - Friday we were there!).

Pros:

The location in Grasmere is wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The restaurant was a bit less good for evening food.

Cons:

Room was very warm due to (a) heating being on when I arrived even though weather was very good, and (b) sunny weather combined with lack of any means of cooling down. But that is probably standard for the Lake District. the Sunday evening of the bank holiday weekend there was a long wait for food in the bar. They really should serve pinot grigio much colder.

Rubbish
Pros:

Nothing at all , my holiday were ruined , all staff were blunt , no empathy for any disabled guests or elderly .
They were telling me that I should have read their terms and conditions properly.
See attached conditions the reason for my booking as pet friendly and facilities for disabled guests.

Cons:

We booked knowing its pet friendly, there were dogs everywhere but they would not allow our rescued pet parrot anywhere on their premises which was in the cage.
It says on your website , facilities for disabled person.
My sister is disabled, there was no consideration given at all, we have to carry her up the steps.

They say free parking. None was available no where near the premises,
We were sitting in the car till 6 pm and have to leave at 9 am .
