Hotel good, location great, neighbours awful
Pros:

Decent room with balcony and welcoming staff.

Cons:

Awful noise from drunks for ages in late afternoon and evening ruining sit on balcony. Not the hotels fault as no one sorting out the awful anti-social idiots across the way.

Great Character, indifferent service
Pros:

Location was excellent with a spacious sheltered beer garden to entertain company.
The building has great character.

Cons:

The bar area where you order meals/ drinks is frequently unstaffed and you have to wait patiently for staff to arrive from other areas. The staff did not seem motivated or enthusiastic about being there.
I entertained some guests in the garden (one of whom had Huntingtons, a neurological condition).
The staff assumed he was drunk when he ordered drinks and were diffident towards our group because of this.
He was later refused service. When I explained the situation to management they acted quickly and spoke with the team but it soured our experience.
It's a shame because I have always loved the character of the Bell 🔔 Inn and it's place in the community.

My trip down memory Lane was disappointing
Pros:

The staff were excellent but working under difficult circumstances as the hotel is a shadow of its former self

Cons:

The decor was shabby and the first room we had was not up to standard
So we moved into another better suite
