Plenty of free parking. Friendly staff. Value for money for accommodation and food and drink. Comfy bed. Nice outdoor area as well as an indoor restaurant.
Bathroom needs a bit of TLC. The shower anti slip mat was very discoloured. ( The shower curtain was extremely long) There wasn't anywhere to put your wash bags. A chair would be useful in the bedroom.
The position and excellent staff
Bathroom facilities need attention
Nice quiet location. Rooms had everything you need. Staff were polite and friendly. Good selection of food and drinks. Quick food service. Good place if you are looking for a base to get to Cardiff.
The bathroom shower tray was a little damaged but for the price not worried.
The pub is very lively and was quite noisy until 11pm.
We stayed at Brewers Lodge while attending the annual cider festival, and it was ideal for what we needed. The accommodation is fairly basic, but it was clean, comfortable, and offered good value for money.
The location was a real plus, with the town centre just a short walk away, making it easy to enjoy the festival without worrying about transport. The staff were friendly and check-in was straightforward.
If you're looking for a luxury stay, this probably isn't it, but if you want an affordable, comfortable place in a convenient location, Brewers Lodge is a great choice. We'd happily stay again when visiting Blackwood.
The rooms are very basic, and the soundproofing could definitely be improved, as noise from other rooms and the corridors was quite noticeable. That said, at around £60 per night, it's hard to complain too much, as it still represents good value for money if you're simply looking for an affordable place to stay.
Room was clean and had everything you would need including kettle, tea bags, coffee and biscuits, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. Good location to travel into Cardiff and Caerphilly is only 20 minutes away.
Unfortunately room 118 we had at the back of the hotel was right above the cellar area and there was a really loud refrigeration fan going all night as well as a really bright security light on constantly which meant on the first night I got no sleep at all! We had to have the windows open as it was really hot in the room and the light shone into the room around the edge of the curtains and through the middle gap and the beds face the window. I had to buy ear plugs and a eye mask for the second night to make sure I got some sleep!
Garden
Saniflo system in bathroom poor
Bed was extremely comfortable and room was acceptable for price a little tired but as it was so cheap couldn't complain, or expect more. Had a very cute cat too.
Comfortable and spacious rooms.
Good value for money.
No hassle, 24 hr access!
Rooms were a tad dusty, kettle didn't work in one room.
Friendly. Straightforward but very comfy beds, rooms with practical storage solutions, a nice bathroom, all very clean and able to open windows wide on one of the hottest nights of the year. A peaceful setting up on the hill above Blackwood and ideal for the Brecons and Cardiff/Caerphilly.
NOISE!
Lovely hotel friendly staff rooms very clean and comfortable
The view was lovely, kind staff, really nice to have multiple facilities on site (bar/restaurant+hotel, no need to go super far away to fancy a couple pints), nice interactions with locals and generally good vibes in the place
No air-conditioning during a heatwave was not a piece of news we welcomed with the honours reserved to the heroes and the demigods. Moreover, the noise through the bar drifted through the walls quite easily and the lock kept making noise at the passage of people in the corridor - they should be tightened (please).
Good shower and good location. Pleasant check-in staff. Free parking
Mattress wasn’t supportive and too soft.
