The staff are very professional, and allways pleasant .
The onix bar service and meals were good value.
Friendly helpfully staff very accommodating to my disabled needs
As above
Room needed to keep window open for any chance of cooling breeze but very frustrating noise from bar/disco with music on until 1am.
Breakfast very limited options and only really trad British and that was quite poor.
Perfect location
It’s will be better to have high pressure shower
Good location, nice sized room, great shower, good lighting.
Mattress not too good, shower in bath - not a walk in shower, no view.
The Crown Hotel gives the impression of being transported from another era...the post-war (First or Second) seaside resorts that cosy crime dramas on TV are often set in...but it has obviously been treated to a makeover, that can't make you forget the physical limitations of an old building, but which suggest care and attention, with clean white paintwork, and a freshness about every nook and cranny. We may have been among the younger guests when we stayed - and we are 67 - but the happy hour that lasts quite a while and the rotating musical entertainers in a large room off reception seemed to make everyone else smile...We stayed one night, primarily because of the location: a short walk to a restaurant we had long hoped to try...we had a good night's sleep, only cut short because breakfast finishes at 9.30 and checkout is at 10am. It was another hot night in this summer's heatwave...we just about coped thanks to a fan the hotel provided. Breakfast incidentally was super, made all the more fun by the efficient team who dealt briskly but with a laugh as wave after wave of guests came and went.
Didn't like is putting it too strongly...but the 10am checkout was earlier than normal, and the absence of air conditioning (understandable in such an old building) was a bit of a challenge. Being required to hand our key in each time we ventured out was another nudge to remind us that Miss Marple would not have felt out of place...
The friendly and happy staff we met whilst there.
The refreshments in the bedroom most hotels leave small packets of biscuits for customers to have with their tea or coffee. But there were none. A towel rail by the sink instead of one directly over the toilet would also be a good idea.
All the staff, always so polite and helpful.
Street noise
Location for harbour good.
Basic facilities. Poor breakfast. Overcharged for rooms - told it was Booking.com fault.
