A night away
Pros:

Lovely hotel, both evening meal and breakfast, comfy bed and large room. Plenty of parking and places to sit outside and in in comfort.
Pity there is no view from the room just a skylight.
The door did not lock from inside and out there is no handle on the outside of the door so unable to pull it shut, just glad no one could not find there room and walked into ours.
Comfy bed and very quiet.

A lovely place to stay - leave room for breakfast!
Pros:

The breakfast was absolutely superb. The fullest and best full English I’ve had. My limited experience of the evening menu was also very good. The staff were lovely. Everyone was very helpful The bed was comfortable and the ceiling fan and aircon very much appreciated.

Cons:

Some aspects of the room showed a little “tiredness” and perhaps more rigorous maintenance would be good.

Room was spacious and perfect location for the wedding we were attending. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had

Great base for walks in the Peak District
Pros:

Great location, lovely staff, great bar, superb breakfast. Bedrooms have lots of nice touches like USB sockets, mirror, fans

Excellent restaurant for lunch
Pros:

We went for lunch on a Friday and had the place to ourselves which was a great pity as the food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient.
I had the risotto for my main course and it was well cooked and full of flavour with the mint being present but not overpowering.
Hope that they get more customers as they were excellent.

Lovely hotel
Pros:

Lovely location. Nice room.
Bar staff friendly and made good cocktails. Sunday menu small but tasty
Destiny who served us an excellent breakfast was very attentive and lovely.
Ladies on reception very engaging and helpful ..found us an extra fan for our room
Lovely fluffy bath towels

Cons:

Bit of a "climb" to get into the huge bath for a shower

We both had a lovely experience. The room was comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful
Pros:

Breakfast was great. Food quality was really good. All served ina lovely dinning room.

Disappointing stay - don't go.
Pros:

Location was perfect for a family celebration. The views magnificent over Amber Valley. The hotel had an interesting history.
However it was not value for money.

Don't stay here
Pros:

Picturesque historical building

Cons:

Allocated room was without facilities ie needed repair. Replaced with a downgraded room. When asked for rebate was met with sarcasm from the on-duty desk. The differential in cost was repaid with one drink (there were two of us staying in the room), and cross comments between two members of staff. No goodwill gesture and barely an apology.

A wonderful Hotel. Very calm and relaxing
Pros:

The hotel was in a beautiful area and the views from the terrace were amazing! We had only booked one night as we were passing through however we would love to stay again. Next time we visit Santo's will be the place we book. The room was very clean and the breakfast was lovely.
However the staff were exceptional, so helpful and kind and nothing seemed too much bother.
A really enjoyable stay!
