This is a great a hotel for the money. Staff are very professional and friendly. My room was over the bar area so some noise pollution but nothing that stopped me sleeping. Bed was very comfortable and the mini fridge in the room is a god send. Plenty of plug sockets too.
So good I have booked for next week.
There is a fire door on top floor to the 400 rooms that could do with the auto-closer adjusted or changed as it slams very loudly. But that is a small complaint.
No breakfast
Friendly staff. Bar food and drink was really good.
I was disappointed with this hotel, which is looking tired and in need of investment and attention.
The accommodation corridors contained litter, and a stair runner had become dislodged and was simply left at the bottom of the stairs. Outside, there was litter, including a coat hanger, which appeared to have been there for some time.
The bathroom gave the impression that standards had slipped. The bath and shower gel dispensers were only partially filled, with one around a third full and the other around half full. There were exposed wall plugs by the bath where a towel rail had clearly once been fitted, and the toilet seat was fitted at a bizarre angle.
The grounds and car park also looked scruffy and poorly maintained, which only reinforced the overall impression of a property that lacks attention to detail.
Overall, the hotel fell well short of expectations and appears to be in need of both maintenance and improved housekeeping standards.
Receptionist was fantastic
Room comfortable
Had everything you needed.
Only thing I was disappointed with was the breakfast chef wont make poached eggs
Looked nice
The Beds were really uncomfortable and made a lot of noise.
Had a terrible nights sleep. Also could hear people on the second floor walking around during the night which woke us up.
Won’t be staying again
Location was pleasant
Felt like it was long overdue for a facelift . There was only one night table lamp & it didn’t work, I requested to have it changed but never worked in my three days there. To have a coffee at 10 in the morning I had to pay £3.80. There was no option any if the 3 nights to order anything à la carte, it was all typical buffet style & crowded with bus tours. Poor water pressure in bathtub.
Help yourself meal was good.
Fitness centre and restaurant closed far too early.
Fitness centre and pool closed to early, most people finish work 18.00hrs and need time for a sauna and wind down
Comfortable large room and bed. Very clean and lovely thoughtful messages giving information on display. It felt safe with friendly helpful staff
Location perfect for my needs My dogs were also very relaxed and happy there. Nice outdoor areas and access to quiet tracks and fields next to hotel. Didn't try the food bit will next time.
Easy to find. Reasonable price.
Staff took a while to come to reception. We were locked out of our rooms during breakfast which meant having to go back to reception - no explanation or apology given. Breakfast was terrible value. Poor quality, salty and dripping in grease.
Nothing
Our room had diarrhoea all over the bathroom toilet, walls, sink. The bed was covered in stains once we lifted the covers. The whole place was dirty, foul and inhabitable. I checked out immediately after showing them the video evidence and was promised a refund. I’m yet to receive it
The pictures online are also false advertising, it doesn’t look like this at all
Food plentiful and tasty. Good parking, comfortable rooms and great facilities. Excellent value.
Gym, pool and changing area dirty, untidy and leaking, making it feel dated and unloved. Such a shame.
Good value and ideal location
Very tired
Location for me getting to Old Basing was great.
The whole hotel feels very dated and is in need of a refresh. Didn’t like having to walk through the group of smokers outside the main entrance. The hotel obviously excepts coach tours to stay and during my visit there were two coaches there, the restaurant was setup as a buffet as I presume easier for them to cater for larger groups, the food looked like it had been out for hours and was not appealing. No other option for food.
