A clean, quiet and charming hotel in a great central location, but the arrival experience and recept
Pros:

The hotel has an excellent location, right above a bookstore in the city centre. The room was clean, quiet, nicely designed, and had a pleasant authentic atmosphere. Overall, the room itself and the location were the strongest parts of our stay.

Cons:

The arrival experience could have been better. We had booked in advance and informed the hotel of our arrival time, but the welcome felt quite minimal. There was only one person at reception, apparently handling both check-in and porter duties. The check-in process felt somewhat reluctant, and no help or luggage trolley was offered, even though we were travelling with children and had five suitcases. We had to carry the luggage ourselves up one flight of stairs.

During our stay, the same staff member was often sitting near the entrance when we went in or out, but the door was not opened for us. This is not a major issue by itself, but together with the arrival experience it made the service feel less welcoming than expected.
