Lily Houseboat

The location was lovely, very serene and pretty. Loved the stay as well, but the best part that made our trip to Srinagar so memorable was the wonderful hospitality, by our host Junaid - very accommodating, patient and helpful. Thank you for such a great trip! Also grateful for Yusuf, the caretaker, for his availability throughout our stay! Can't wait to be back!

Everything! It’s position on the beautiful Nigeen Lake which is far more civilised and serene that the Dal Lake and only more minutes from the city. And then the marvellous Yousuf who is always one step ahead of you and made my stay at incredible! P.S I have extended my stay twice!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the location amazing! We took at 4 hour boat ride and it was the highlight of our trip from Australia.

It gives a typical Kashmiri feel. Yusuf bhai, the manager / caretaker is a very good host. Location is strategic. Overall very good experience. It is better to stay at Nigeen lake, because Dal Lake is very crowded. We had great experience in Shikara ride from Nigeen.

It was very conformable and the team were extremely helpful. The dinner was also lovely, I would highly recommend staying on board for food.

Beautiful boat with lovely peaceful atmosphere, host Yousef was very nice and gave lots of local advice and tips. The breakfast was great and the hosts clearly know what works well and doesn’t - recommend this houseboat over the Dal Lake boats as much quieter and the hosts are so sincere and aren’t overwhelming

We loved this houseboat. First of all, there were only two rooms on the boat, and for most of our stay we were the only people there. The room was spacious, cozy and the bed was comfortable. The main sitting area was also very nice. The wifi was pretty good, a little bit glitchy on video calls, but for the most part pretty reliable.
Our host was extremely helpful, and the view from the porch was great, too. Unlike Dal Lake, which is super crowded, busy and chaotic, Nigeen Lake was serene and not too many vendors came to bother us.

This houseboat is located on the smaller and quieter Nigeen Lake. There are 2 bedrooms and we were lucky that we had the whole boat to ourselves for 5 days. We ate most of our meals on the boat and they were really tasty. Yusuf is a wonderful host and he was always ready to help or answer questions about the area. He makes the best Kahwa in Kashmir!

Location, Location, Location. If you want to have a great experience, This is the location, at Lily of the world houseboats. The calm and serene feeling you would get is unparallel compared to the crowded dal lake area, you can always take a shikara .ride to dal lake which adds to the total experience. The best sunset point is from this houseboat at Nigeen lake.

There a few houseboats (yes they have a few with varied sizes and amenities) The owner and operator Mr. Junaid would make you feel that you are among family. He ensures you are well taken care of and would go extra mile to provide you with all that you need. The warm hospitality and cheerful nature of the houseboat manager Mr. Yousuf will win you over. Junaid our host was a joy to interact with. He checked on us regularly if we need anything. He has the right knowledge to guide you if you plan to travel around within Srinagar or planning a trip to Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Pahalgam, etc. He can help you with car bookings or shikara booking or even trekking at reasonable rate. Junaid would never make you feel that you are a stranger at his houseboat. within minutes he makes you feel you are talking to a friend who wants the best for you.

The boats are simple with basic amenities and one must not expect a hotel type of service/experience. The charm of simple stay at houseboat is unbeatable. They provide breakfast and dinner (simple but very delicious home cooked food). if you want to indulgent gourmet experience the city offers many options
