Pros:

Toiletries. Room had aircon.

Cons:

A hotel.that is trying too hard to.be something but missed what that something was along the way. Food was way overpriced and nothing spectacular. Breakfast was basic. Really disliked the €100 depoisit for mini bar and snacks. Put in a vending machine and let people get take out from the bar. Will.never darken the door again.

Bad location, impossible to sleep
Pros:

Beautiful hotel with lovely decor.
* The room and bathroom were clean and nicely decorated.
* The air conditioning worked really well, which was very helpful during the hot weather in Cork.

Cons:

The biggest downside is the location. The hotel is right next to the train station, and some rooms are directly beside the railway tracks. Our room faced the tracks, so we couldn’t even open the curtains for any privacy. The noise was the biggest issue. Even with earplugs, it was impossible to sleep after 6 a.m. There are trains after midnight, and the first one starts at around 5:40 a.m. For a hotel, not being able to get a good night’s sleep is a big problem. I also don’t think it’s fair that these rooms cost the same as the quieter rooms on the other side of the hotel. The receptionist told us we could ask for a room on the other side next time, but for this price, I think there are better options in Cork.
* You have to walk through the lobby, bar and reception every time you want to go to the swimming pool.
* The coffee machine in our room only worked once. After making one coffee, it stopped working completely.
* The parking information is a bit misleading. The train station car park isn’t secure, and Merchant’s Quay Car Park is described as being only a short walk away, but it’s actually about a 10-minute walk. We also found other car parks that were closer and cheaper.
* The hotel takes a €100 deposit for the minibar. I’ve never had this happen at any other hotel. A pre-authorisation would make more sense, especially as the money is taken straight away but takes a few days to be refunded.

Gutes zweckmässiges Stadthotel in Zentrumsnähe mit schönem Hotelpool.
Pros:

Sehr modernes, geräumiges Familienzimmer mit hervorragenden Betten und guter Dusche. Klimaanlage war auch sehr gut einstellbar. Lage ist gut (ca 10 Minuten zu Fuss ins Zentrum), aber nicht sehr ruhig.

Generell fanden wir das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Cons:

- Frühstück nicht inbegriffen und recht teuer
- Es wird ein Deposit von der Kreditkarte abgebucht, obwohl ich das Zimmer im voraus zu 100% bezahlt habe. Das sei für Minibar. Habe ich so noch nie erlebt. Es wurde zwar rückerstattet, aber dafür fallen mir in der Fremdwährung unnötig Spesen an. Eventuell könnte man hier einfach nur eine Limite blockieren und nicht gleich abbuchen.
- Parkieren ist etwas umständlich. Zwar ist der Parkplatz sehr nahe, man muss aber einen grossen Umweg fahren und Nachts ist der Parkplatz nicht sehr einladend.
- Wir wollten nach dem Abendessen noch auf einen Drink in der Bar vom SOPHIE'S RESTAURANT nehmen. Leider machten die bereits kurz nach 10 Uhr Feierabend und es war nur noch die wenig attraktive Bar im Eingangsbereich offen - und dies an einem Freitag Abend. Unverständlich, wenn man ein solches Bijou hat sollte das zum Place to be werden am Wochenende.
- Sauna fand ich extrem unhygienisch: Gäste sitzen mit nassen Badehose direkt aufs Holz und der Schweiss tropft auch aufs Holz, obwohl es Saunatücher hätte.

Adequate but wouldn’t return.
Pros:

Cool aesthetic in the lobby

Cons:

Literally right on top of the train station. In fact, room came with ear plugs. Car parking was a nightmare due to the fact that the hotel doesn’t have any and the one way street setup makes getting to nearby parking a giant pain. Room was sleek but bed had a huge dip in the middle so not the most comfortable. If you are train hopping this is the perfect location, otherwise very business/industrial area.

I liked the pool and rooftop dining.

Cons:

The noise from the road, roadworks and train station nearby left us with a very bad nights sleep before we left for an early flight. Sadly it got our holidays off to a bad start!The complimentary earplugs were not enough
