Lovely old building with a great view over the water with lovely staff eager to help with anything at all and Steve made a great Moscow mule cocktail in the bar
Breakfast was good. Location Excellent. Staff very friendly. More like your staying at a friend's house than a hotel. Very relaxed.
The weather lol 😆
Good location just off the ferry .
Good breakfast.
Booked a budget double room but was given a single room.
Hotel declined any involvement in the booking and said it was up to booking.com to sort out.
This budget double room is still for sale on the booking.com site.
Location
Nothing
Lovely hotel currently under going modernisation
Great friendly staff Amazing room
Location/traditional layout
Room not very clean, stained bedding, damp smell on entering, view to rubble outside, no information about bar/dining options and times. Multiple flies around area and cobwebs, very run down since I last visited around 8 years ago, it’s a shame as staff work hard and very approachable and a historic building.
Location was excellent
Bar was closed
Views from the terrace outside the hotel
Overpriced. Hotel and rooms in need of refurbishment. Long walk from passenger ferry. No evening meals, unless it's the weekend. Breakfast offered but limited time. Hotel and grounds have potential but sadly not yet realised.
The room the staff the food
Nothing to dislike everything wss great
Good location & breakfast. Breakfast staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is needing alot of work done to it and a good clean. There was furniture & TVs lying around the corridors, holes in walls, the radiators had been removed from the room and bathroom but the pipes were still there, it was dusty and needed a good clean.
They are monoblocking the front of the hotel but all the blocks are loose and as you step down the blocks fall away as we discovered when one of us nearly fell down the stairs. There are no warning signs etc. There is very limited parking especially when workers vans are parked and taking up more that one space.
We asked for recommendations for dinner in Dunoon to be told the best thing to do was to phone a take-away and they would deliver as everything shuts at 7pm, this was about 6.50pm. We found a few restaurants in Dunoon open until 9pm and had a lovely meal.
The location is excellent, with the ferry terminal and a bus stop just a short walk away. The beer at the pub downstairs is also really nice.
We couldn’t open the window, and there was no fan provided despite the warm weather. The window was also very dirty and covered with spider webs. The bathroom light took a while to come on properly each time it was switched on. The bed felt a little wobbly, and the soundproofing was poor, as we could clearly hear our neighbors.
Location perfect for ferry
Pillows not comfortable
Overall experience
Falleferdig hotell, trenger omsorg
Dårlig seng
Badet er under standard
Friendly staff, clean, tidy and excellent value. Evening meal was outstanding.
All good
Excellent breakfast, great location as opposite ferry terminal
Lovely building mid refurb so more work required
I think the barman was called Jessie so friendly and hospitable a credit to the hotel. Nice staff overall.
The bed 🛏️
Staff we’re outstandingly helpful.
Sadly the hotel needs serious investment to update the building.
