Good view from 3rd Floor
Pros:

View from the room and breakfast was good.

Cons:

Its on the hill , you need to use stairs to get the room. Difficult for elderly peoples

Great views
Pros:

Small balcony with fabulous views. Easy access to hike on the train lines. Friendly staff.

Cons:

Hotel hard to find and many steps down to the entrance. Room full of insects, even inside the mosquito net. The room was not like the photos.

The views are breathtaking, so stunning. Staff were so lovely and hospitable. The train ride to Ella was incredible and we absolutely loved it.

Cons:

Unfortunately when we went they were doing a lot of building works which I think will be wonderful when completed but I don’t think we got to experience the full beauty of the location and the hotel as a lot of it was in construction. We only stayed for one night but the room was huge and view stunning.

Ella itself is ok but I wouldn’t rush back there. It’s very very touristy and feels very much like a back packers location and doesn’t have the authentic Sri Lankan charm like the other places we have visited during our stay. This is nothing to do with the hotel though that’s just our observation on Ella itself but the train ride is totally worth it but I think that and 1 night is plenty if you’re wanting more Sri Lankan vibes.

Relaxing stay in Ella with impressive views
Pros:

While set a little out of the centre of Ella. The view from our balcony was second to none. The room was well sized and clean with an excellent shower. We had read about the huge breakfast before we arrived and were not disappointed with what we had. A huge plate of fresh fruit, fresh fruit juice, choice of eggs along with a number of local Sri Lankan delicacies.
The staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful throughout our stay . Providing information around the local area and offering to arrange Tuk Tuk (at a reasonable price) to a variety of attractions . They also provided a very helpful short cut down into Ella which greatly reduced the distance and walk time.
Although the hotel is expanding its rooms and building work is currently happening. This in no way impacted on a a very relaxing stay. The new rooms that are being built and will be available in a few weeks looked amazing with even better views of the Ella valley than ours

Incredible staff, incredible view
Pros:

The staff were phenomenal, highlighting Priyantha who showed so much care for us. He and the rest of the staff were a highlight of Ella

Cons:

The only thing people should consider is accessibility. There are a steep-ish set of stairs to get to the front n then to most rooms

Deceptive and Disappointing

There’s a great view from the dining area. My room was very clean and well maintained.

Cons:

I paid for a room with a view. More than half the view is now concealed by construction on the adjacent property and no explanation or compensation was provided for this. The fridge on the deck doesn’t work despite being provided with complimentary drinks. I was asked if I wanted to upgrade to better room upon arrival for a small price, after I declined they were going to offer it to me anyway provided I cancel my booking on booking.com and re-book directly with the hotel. The location is also frustrating if you plan to walk from the main shops in Ella as you have to go past the towns rubbish tip which is horrid. The wifi was pretty weak too.
