Disappointing
Pros:

The location suited us and the room we took (upstairs in a new annex) was adequate.

Cons:

The original hotel building is in a great location but needs a serious upgrade. The first room we were offered (1st floor of old building) could be an excellent room but it was damp and musty.

J'ai aimé la marche au bord du lac.
Pros:

La situation géographique si on souhaite faire une promenade au bord du lac. Les chambres à l'arrière sont propres et rénovées. Le personnel est serviable.

Cons:

Les lits ont un couvre-matelas plastifié inconfortable et le matelas est un peu mou.
Pas de séchoir de disponible.

It was fine enough for a one night stay.
Pros:

The room was big, the bed was very comfortable and the staff were excellent!!😊

Cons:

The carpet was dirty and needed to be vacuumed. The fridge was dirty.

An Old Classic for a small town
Pros:

We were relieved to find this place that accepted dogs.
The room was comfortable, although being on the second floor made it a bit trickier to get in and out. However, we discovered a beautiful boardwalk along the shore of the lake where we could get the dogs out for a walk.
The beds were comfortable and the shower was great!

Cons:

It's easy to see that the Lakeview has had easier days, but the staff are friendly and clearly trying to improve the place. Wawa is a small town, so things shut down around 6:00 p.m. And that made it a bit tricky to find food.

Authentic Northern Ontario experience
Pros:

The people who run the hotel are wonderful. Tina particularly. Now keep in mind that my rating has to do with being in Wawa not in Toronto. So this is a rustic historical hotel, they've done a nice job of renovating some of the rooms we were lucky enough to be moved to one of them because Tina perceived we must have made a mistake in the room we chose and she was right.
But the best part about this place is the classically Northern Ontario redneck bar. Fun people everybody from the community hanging out for the night young old, old singers young singers just a very authentic experience.
So if you're willing to let yourself ignore what you usually like if you're a Toronto person or such you will love it. Don't forget to see Sandy Beach and hang for a couple of hours if it's sunny and stop at the two falls along the way. You may be too late for blueberry season but boy was that amazing!
