Hotel Jirisan Haetsal

It was right next to a hiking start point. Beautiful scenery and a river running right behind the property. The rooms are very well equipped with ample storage space. We found the staff incredibly kind and helpful. It was such an amazing nature stay while still being relatively close to the city's restaurants. We would stay here again!

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a warmth and generosity that felt so genuinely Korean — the kind of heartfelt hospitality that you read about but rarely experience firsthand. Our host went above and beyond in every possible way, always making sure we felt comfortable, cared for, and at home.

The hotel itself was excellent — clean, well-appointed, and maintained to a great standard. But the location is what truly sets it apart. We were just a short walk from a breathtaking temple, surrounded by beautiful nature, and with wonderful local restaurants right on the doorstep. Everything you could want was within easy reach.

We will absolutely be back. Highest possible recommendation – a truly special place made even more special by the person running it.

Newly renovated, exceptionally clean, and excellent location and value for hikers expecting to tackle Nogodan and Mt Jiri or Buddhists hoping to be near Hwaeom Temple. The owner was v kindly, attentive, and hospitable. Ask him for help and local intel if the Korean reservation sys is confusing. The downstairs coffee shop is a great area to rest, use the restroom, or fill up on water. Also, the mountain food at the many nearby restaurants was stunning

Big windows to open for fresh air with great location for good food and offering little things that people may forget to bring such as tooth brush and paste ^&^ and, I was able to get sweets from their cafe.

The location is just perfect to explore Hweomsa Temple and its surrounding area. The owner/host, Mr. So is a great host to help us out when we needed a taxi. He also made us feel very welcome since this is our second stay at this hotel.

Emplacement super pour découvrir Hwaeomsa, à pied depuis l'hôtel, et aller marcher dans Jirisan, à condition d'avoir un vehicule. Pas de bus et peu de taxis circulent dans le coin.
Un bon choix de restaurants tout près de l'hôtel.
Chambre très agréable, bien équipée, lumineuse. Personnel sympathique.

Jirisan Sunlight hotel is one of the best hotels we ever stayed. Here is why.
1. Location: very conveniently located. Easy access to many places. 10 minutes to bus terminal, 20 minutes to the train station by driving. You can take bus to those places easy.
Bus stop to Sungsamjae (that’s where you start Nogodan peak) is also close by.
one mile to Hwaeomsa temple. Walkway to Hwaeomsa is covered mostly with deck along the creek. Very pleasant walk anytime of the day.
2. Hotel is very clean and quiet. They must have remodeled recently.
3. Hotel owner/operator is friendly and eager to help you with anything.
4. Lots of good restaurants are only steps away. They even serve breakfast which is quite unusual in Korea. We had best fried chicken from 또래오래 restaurant across the street. I always believed in ‘you get what you pay for’ but that does not apply to this hotel. You get a lot more than what you pay for.
