Comfortable, welcoming, and perfectly located—everything we were looking for
Pros:

We absolutely loved our 5-night stay at Hotel Mar Azul and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lagos. The hotel is perfectly located, with its main entrance tucked away on a charming pedestrian side street literally just a couple of minutes walk from the main square. It really couldn’t be more convenient for exploring the town, while still feeling peaceful and authentic. We walked everywhere during our stay and never needed transportation – it was absolutely perfect. There are countless shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants right on your doorstep, making it an ideal base for experiencing everything Lagos has to offer.

The hotel itself is small, cosy, and full of Portuguese character. There is a fairly steep staircase leading up to the reception area, but once inside you’ll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was immaculately clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with modern amenities, including air conditioning and a modern bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the beautiful view overlooking the main waterway. While the balcony was tiny, it was still a lovely place to sit and take in the scenery.

What truly made our stay special was the outstanding hospitality. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our visit, always happy to offer assistance or local recommendations. The overall value for money was remarkable.

Hotel Mar Azul offers the perfect combination of location, comfort, cleanliness, affordability, authentic Portuguese charm, and genuine hospitality. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and can’t recommend it highly enough.

Recepcionistas muitos simpáticas , o quarto é pequeno mas é ótimo para duas pessoas , tinha tv smart, Wi-Fi, cama de casal grande, tinha ar condicionado, fazia um pouco de barulho,porém ajudou muito ,a localização é muito boa,fica logo no centro ,não dá pra ir de carro,mas tem vários parques , e inclusive tem parque grátis ,eles não oferecem comida mas tem uma cozinha para quem quer cozinhar

Hotel un po’ vecchio, muri sporchi , da sistemare . Alla reception non hanno dato consigli su dove mangiare o come muoversi a parte una cartina della città su nostra richiesta

Love this quirky hotel.
Pros:

This was a lovely quirky hotel right in the centre of Lagos but very quiet.
We loved it and would stay again.

Cons:

The stairs to get to the hotel but we coped. The owner(?) was very helpful in changing our room to the lowest floor
The shower area itself was really 1st class and modern but the tiles in the bathroom itself really needed replacing.
There seemed to be a kitchen area on the middle of the reception area but we were never invited to use it.
Although not perfect you will enjoy yourself here.

Cozy Hotel in the Centre of Lagos
Pros:

The hotel is located in the heart of Lagos, making it a great base for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. Our room was quiet, as it did not face the street, which made for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The bathroom was clean, and the air conditioning worked very well. The hotel also has a well-equipped kitchen that guests can use.

Cons:

The only downside was the parking. If you arrive by car, it can be very difficult to find a parking space nearby, and there is no parking available at the hotel. The staff were very helpful and showed us where we could find a free parking spot about a 7–10 minute walk away. It's good to know this in advance so you can plan accordingly.
