Cons:

The view is beautiful, but the transportation in this area is terrible. If you are not staying near Kotor Old Town, it is almost impossible to get a taxi, as there are rarely any available cars. The bus is supposed to run every 30 minutes, but we waited for over an hour and it never arrived. Unless you have a car, I would not recommend staying here.

Hótelið stendur a fallegum stað með dásamlega fallegt útsýni. Starfsfólkið var vingjarnlegt veitti mjög góða þjónustu. Útisvæði hótelsins við laugina, sjóinn og veitingastaðinn er fallegt og notalegt. Gott morgunverðarhlaðborð.

Quiet waterfront getaway
Pros:

Hotel Splendido was a quiet, waterside retreat away from the crowds. The hotel is quaint, clean, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Food and drinks were available poolside, they arranged a boat tour that picked up directly from the hotel's dock, and they organized an airport transfer for a fraction of the posted taxi rates at TIV Airport. They even packed a delicious breakfast to go since I was checking out before breakfast service began. The hotel is fairly secluded if you aren’t with a car. That said, there are two hotel properties across the street with restaurants, so you have a few dining options within an easy walk. One tip: have the hotel arrange your airport transfer before you arrive. It's well worth it.

Cons:

There are no nearby convenience stores or markets, and the narrow coastal road doesn't have sidewalks. It would be nice if there were some options to purchase bottled waters, sodas, snacks instead of having to order all food and drink from restaurants.

Poorly maintained, unclean, and lacking even basic hospitality—this hotel is overpriced and not worth the money

The staff were polite and welcoming. The hotel itself has a nice waterfront setting, and if you have a car, it can be a convenient base for exploring the area.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The cleanliness was far below expectations. The balcony was dirty upon arrival, with a used glass that had been left outside and was being used as an ashtray by previous guests. The hotel grounds also didn’t appear to be well maintained. Inside the room, housekeeping was inconsistent—they cleaned my room despite my request not to, yet the bed was barely made and looked almost the same as I had left it. The property shows clear signs of neglect, with rust in several areas, and I even found an insect on one of my towels the following day.

The service was very basic. The room phone wasn’t working, so I had to walk to reception to ask for room service, only to be told the hotel doesn’t offer it. I then had to ask the restaurant directly if they could bring me a coffee, which they kindly agreed to do, but reception made it sound like they were doing me a favour rather than providing a normal hotel service.

I had requested a queen bed but was initially given a room with two single beds upstairs. There is no elevator, and no one offered to help with my luggage. I had to ask for assistance myself and then request a different room downstairs. I was surprised that such basic hospitality wasn’t offered.

The location is also less convenient than it first appears. Without a car, you’re largely dependent on taxis. The nearest main attraction, Kotor Old Town, is about a 45-minute walk, or roughly €12 each way by taxi, meaning you’ll spend around €25 for a simple return trip.

Overall, the hotel feels like it’s being run with minimal investment. Cleanliness, maintenance, and service all felt very basic, and the property doesn’t offer good value for the price charged.
