Hotel La Cierva de San Marcos

Overall, we had a very positive experience at this hotel. Hernan was extremely friendly and kindly picked us up from and took us back to the airport, even though our flight times were very inconvenient. He also agreed at very short notice to drive us around the city for the whole day, showing us the main sights and recommending what to visit.

The property was a secure, gated place. Everything was clean and tidy, and the hosts were always attentive, asking how they could make our stay even better. Our room overlooked a charming historic street, and the location felt safe, with the historic centre within walking distance and many restaurants nearby.

One thing to keep in mind, although it is not specific to this hotel, is that in the country many places prefer cash payments, and paying by card may involve an extra fee, so it is better to prepare cash in advance.

The breakfast was delicious, and it was plenty of food. The tour that Hernan gave us was informative and eye opening. The other guests were very friendly, and we had a great time together. I recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Quito.

It is an exceptional property! Location is superb, in a very safe area of the old town, 5 minutes walk from the main squares and churches. Everything is neat, clean and decorated with remarkable taste. It is an old house from 1875, with a gorgeous Andalusian style covered courtyard, but with all necessary modern amenities. Signora Gloria and signor Hernan who are managing the hotel treat all the guests with utmost personalized attention and friendship. It feels like family and the place felt like being home. One gets an excellent, nutritious and beautifully presented breakfast, a free walking tour of the old town, including local knowledge and cultural learnings. They can arrange daytrips to surrounding areas and are the kindest and sweetest people in the world. Communication is easy, schedule is easily adapted to your needs. Rooms are very chic and have beautiful views over the neighborhood. I will definitely stay here again and I will recommend the place to all my friends as the perfect hotel in Quito.

Hernan and his wife Gloria are supberb, they go out there way to help and make you feel comfortable.

Przepiękna zabytkowa kamienica, wspaniale umeblowana meblami z epoki, dużo drewna i ciekawych bibelotów; wszystko lśniące w nienagannej czystości ; mieliśmy pokój w widokiem na kościół, najlepszy:) świetna lokalizacja na starówce; Gloria, manager, mimo że nie mówiła po angielsku bardzo komunikatywna, troskliwa, robiła świetne, pyszne śniadania; jej mąż Hernand zorganizował dla nas wycieczki ( Mitad del mundo i Otavalo); polecamy , dobry kierowca i przewodnik, opowiadał wiele ciekawostek o miejscach które oglądaliśmy, dawał nam dowolną czasu; robi fajne zdjęcia; po wyjeździe bardzo nam pomógł, bo zostawiłam leki , zorganizował przesyłkę nam je aż na Galapagos; bardzo dziękujemy ❤️

This is an excellent place to stay. Located in the centre, safe area, with lots of good bars and restaurants close at hand. The building is beautiful. Hernan and Gloria were very helpful and kind. They can arrange transport from the airport at a reasonable price and Hernan drove us to the bus station. Laundry through the hotel is expensive and so best to use the cheap laundrette five minutes walk away. It’s worth noting the name of the hotel is not displayed on the outside the building and so make sure you have the hotel address at hand when you first arrive.

Gloria and Hernan are wonderful hosts, it’s like staying with family. Gloria makes the most delicious breakfast with fresh juices and excellent coffee. Hernan will take you on a tour to the equator which was excellent, informative and fun.

The location of the hotel near the old city is great. Restaurants and major sites can be easily reached by walking. (The restaurant which is two blocks away is excellent). The staff are helpful and the hotel feels very secure. It has a homely feel and is very clean.

class.Responded immediately to requests and offered laundry service, an excellent full day tour of city, equator and volcano, and the long ride to airport for very reasonable costs. Ecellent and varied breakfasts.
Gave good recommendations for activities and restaurants. We walked safely to city center daily. Room and house are very nice.There are small shops and multiple restaurants on the street and a fabulous wood artisan.

Herndon and Gloria were warm and friendly host. Starting each day with a delicious and nicely present breakfast. Herndon was so helpful and informative about things to do in Quito.

La struttura in sé; tipico palazzo d'epoca ristrutturato. Posizione centrale vicino a Piazza Grande, con locali per vicinissimi per trascorrere la serata.

La hospitalidad de los huéspedes es lo mejor. Nos sentimos cuidados y en casa, pero sobretodo no hay precio a como nos atendieron :).
Lo recomendamos mucho si NO conoces quito , e incluso si viajas desde el aeropuerto hay un servicio privado para llege la hotel.
La pareja de huéspedes estuvieron atentos de nuestra llegada desde el primer momento e incluso nos hicieron un tour por la. Mitad del mundo 🌎 y sitios relevantes de quito. También nos dieron muy buenos consejos!!
