Authentiek hotel met top personeel, maar niet ideaal voor een rustige nachtrust.
Pros:

De locatie aan de Kordon is uitstekend en ideaal om Izmir te verkennen. Het hotel heeft een authentieke, klassieke uitstraling die je echt een stap terug in de tijd laat zetten, met ruime kamers en voldoende kastruimte. Het grootste pluspunt was zonder twijfel het personeel: iedereen was uitzonderlijk vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gastvrij. Ook de taxistandplaats voor de deur en de aanwezigheid van een balkon waren voor ons een grote meerwaarde.

Cons:

Wij verbleven vijf nachten en merkten dat dit hotel vooral gericht lijkt op kortere verblijven. Voor wie comfort en een goede nachtrust belangrijk vindt, zijn er enkele aandachtspunten. Onze kamer lag aan de drukke hoofdweg, waardoor slapen met een open raam door het verkeerslawaai niet mogelijk was. De airconditioning maakte eveneens veel geluid, waardoor ook dat geen goed alternatief was. De verduisteringsgordijnen hielden het licht onvoldoende tegen en het bed was erg hard, wat voor zijslapers minder comfortabel is.

De dagelijkse schoonmaak kon beter: de asbak op het balkon werd niet geleegd en gebruikte glazen werden niet altijd aangevuld. Ook het ontbijt vonden wij teleurstellend. Er was geen vers fruit, de börek leek kant-en-klaar te zijn en zelfs vers sinaasappelsap was betalend.

En we door onze vluchturen slechts beperkt van ons verblijf/ontbijt konden genieten, vroegen we vooraf of een kamerupgrade als tegemoetkoming mogelijk was. Dat kon, maar uitsluitend tegen een meerprijs. We hadden hierin wat meer flexibiliteit en klantgerichtheid gewaardeerd.

I booked a fading grande dame hotel for this stay deliberately, and the gamble just about paid off.
Yes it's a little dog-eared, yes the clientele are sparse and elderly, yes my initial room didn't have functioning a/c and the replacement didn't have proper bed covers, but: I got a wonderful sea view and balcony, the staff were charming in a very old school way, and the location on the sea front would be hard to beat.
Someday soon this hotel will be redeveloped in either boutique or international chain style, and it'll lose in charm what it gains in comfort.

Super recomendo o Hotel.
Pros:

Localização excelente, principalmente na habitação que escolhi, com frente para o mar. As acomodações são boas, e o atendimento também.

Cons:

Senti falta de um atendimento especial no café da manha, pois solicitei pão sem glúten e não foi providenciado, apesar de a hospedagem ter sido por 4 diárias (daria tempo de providenciar, claro!).

If you can overlook the "dated" decor and you book an ocean view, it's amazing.
Pros:

We booked an ocean view with balcony. Amazing view! Location is right on the promenade. The hotel restaurant is quite good. Breakfast is just ok. The breakfast restaurant looks quite nice. This hotel really has potential. It's clean. It just needs updating -- and don't use the hallways as storage for extra beds, towel depositories, etc.

Cons:

Decor. I think they have an identity crisis. You walk into the hotel and you practically stumble upon the very small check in area. It looks very dated. The hallways are clean but need some updating as well. The room needs updating. The bathroom shower didn't work. The handheld shower worked with very poor water pressure. The AC is ancient but it did work. The internet would go in and out. They need to have english speaking front desk personnel at all times. We arrived on a Sunday and only 1 person spoke well enough.
