The Lobster Pots - Bawtry

The room was very noisy due to it being at the front of the building on the main road , the tv was not working and the bathroom was tiny .
We chose a room in a local pub so that we could eat and drink without moving. However even as residents we were told they were not busy enough to stay open and were given last orders at 9.45pm .
Then we were told if we went out of the building the bar staff didn’t have the code for the door for us to get back in !!
There were no bar snacks ie: crisps or nuts and were given a glass full of nuts to take upstairs to our room with our drinks at 10pm ……
All very bizarre

The room was not really fit for purpose. We stayed the night of the England game so accepted the noise, but not to be able to open the window after the match was extremely hot with a fan that didn’t help. In the morning tried to have a cooling shower that did not work (I am not a plumber but nothing happened no matter which way you moved the buttons and it was not connected to the bath taps. Spend some budget on your rooms.
The next night in our next restaurant with rooms was a 10 compared to a 0.

Paid for private bathroom, but it was shared. They didn't have record of my Booking.com booking. Booking.com said there was optional extra of breakfast, but this isn't an option that then hotel provides. Booking.com need to ensure their adverts are accurate.

Lack of information for key drop off check out . No one was around to help check out. The phone number does not connect just dials and drops. I left the key

A customer said its serve yourself Sunday !!! They had been waiting a long time to be served . We returned later in the evening and service was a lot better .

The decor and furniture were a bit tired. The bedside table drawers had knobs missing or ready to fall off. Neither of the bedside lamps worked so the room had 1 small working light. It was likely just the bulbs had gone and I'm sure if we'd mentioned it they would have been replaced. We kept forgetting to mention it to the staff so partly our fault.
There was no kind of basic information pack like what the WiFi code was, or what the key code was for the side door that was locked. We had to get the door code from the lady that was cleaning. Info on local bus times, local taxi numbers would be a useful addition, not everyone drives!
Plug sockets weren't very accessible without moving the bedside cabinets, so charging phones/tablets was awkward.

Where to start? Car park had signs saying it was limited to half an hour - staff said it was ok to park overnight and wouldn’t be a problem but it made for an anxious stay.
There was no indication in the pub about how to get to the rooms or get a key. Staff were busy serving people at the bar so it took a while to find out what was going on, get a key etc. The room was small with little space to walk around the bed and only one bedside table/lamp, no dressing table and yet they’d put a kitchenette in there. Why? The bathroom was tiny and yet they’d shoehorned in a corner bath that took up most of the floor space. Mad. The over bath shower was the worst I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. Washing hair under it was impossible because the side of the bath meant you couldn’t actually stand under the shower head. It was impossible to get the temperature right as it fluctuated wildly. The extractor fan wasn’t working and there was no window and the shower gel provided was awful, gloopy and sticky feeling. Only two bath towels were provided no hand towels or bath mat. The room was very hot so we asked for a fan but there were none. When we left there were no staff around and we had received no instructions about what to do with the key. I would not stay here again. And to add insult to injury this one night stay without breakfast cost us £110. It definitely was poor value for money

We were upgraded to the Jacuzzi Room (7) from Room 5.
Room 7 was comfortable, but could have benefited from a few improvements to the decor.

The rooms were not very clean and the manager had no consideration for paying guests.
