Kurhotel Sonnmatt Luzern

It would have been good if the shuttle service operated for a little longer during the day. It finished too early in the evening. You definitely need some form of transport to get to and from the hotel based on it's location.
There wasn't really anything that I disliked.

Booking devrait signaler bien plus explicitement que c'est, certes un hôtel 4 étoiles supérieur, mais que c'est surtout un établissement de cure pour les personnes âgées. Après avoir payé la localisation, c'est la direction de l'hôtel qui nous l'a signalé très aimablement par mail avant notre arrivée. Cela ne nous a pas gêné outre mesure pour notre séjour, mais cela pourrait être gênant pour un couple avec de jeunes enfants

It is more like elder people care center not a hotel. It is full of a great grandparents who has people to take care of them.

Manque une bouilloire dans la chambre. mais c'est vraiment pour dire quelque chose!

It was all elderly people there, I wouldn't have booked if I'd known.
Very expensive to stay but it is Switzerland!

Food was a bit salty in the restaurant.

It wasn't made clear at booking that this hotel specialises in hosting the elderly & those rehabilitating from illness; had this information been at the forefront we wouldn't have made a booking. The atmosphere wasn't conducive to a holiday & put a dampener on our visit to Switzerland that has left a lasting impression.

There was nobody senior with any authority in attendance and qualified to do simple maintenance which is surprising given that this venue appears to function as a clinic of some kind .

1. Our hand basin plug was not functioning : they came and said it was fixed but it was not and we could not use the basin which filled but would not drain away …we e mailed them photos ;

2. We arrived in driving rain and were given inadequate directions to the underground garage in another building . We had to return in the driving rain to find out where it was ;

3. Upon parking we were told we could come back to the hotel by underground tunnel : what they didn’t tell us was that the access door to it was locked so we ended up locked in the garage ;

4. When we paid on departure we said we expected a reduction but none was offered so we reluctantly paid and left ;

The Air conditioner was not cooling at all and it was really hot that day, we couldn’t sleep at all. They have provided us with a fan but it really didn’t do any difference. TV have no English Channels and all the signs in German language

The lies! We were there for a romantic mini break and had to beg them to cancel the reservation and find something else. Shame on you for advertising a geriatric facility, utterly depressing, as a nice hotel in the alps.

I did not appreciate the way staff handled my needs. I had a concerning ear pain when I arrived at the hotel and the woman working at the front desk offered to see if she could ask a nurse or doctor to come up to my room to check it out! I was impressed and amazed but nothing happened… I called later and another woman said that wouldn’t be possible that day. The next day, I asked again and the same first woman said she would send a doctor up to my room in the next ten minutes. I waited and waited. I called an hour later and she said it wasn’t possible. Was she ever going to call me to let me know? Then they said the shuttle could drop me off at a “clinic.” I said okay. Came to see it was the hospital and I ended up waiting five hours there to get help. Quite a fiasco.
