Really comfortable and spacious room. Just across the road from the Theatre which is very handy.
Plumbing needed attention .. old taps were stiff add there were noises from pipework .. but generally very very good.
Fantastic location very friendly staff
Everything was great
Comfortably equipped room. Central location in Buxton and terrific breakfast.
The room was elegantly decorated to suit its era. The choice of drinks was extensive with plenty of milk, if we wanted more than one drink. The bed was very comfortable meaning a very good night's sleep. The handwash and shower gel was good quality and smelled lovely. The toilet paper was better quality than often found in places to stay.
There was nothing to dislike but a few things could be addressed: it was impossible to completely turn off the taps which must be wasting a lot of water. Useful things would be a toilet roll holder near the toilet and a towel ring near the sink. One of the chairs could be lost unless a couple of lose joints are looked at.
Lovely staff, very comfortable accommodation,
Charming tasteful decoration . Great location .
Some paintwork needed touching up .Room was very warm . Arm chairs not very comfortable .
Loved it! Old, interesting, great location and beautiful decor. Trusting and personal atmosphere, very friendly staff.
Bit noisy outside because it backs onto the main street. Really not a big deal though. It’s a beautiful space and we’d highly recommend.
Great location, accommodation good, shower brilliant, breakfast fantastic.
The only complaint I might have is that the accommodation could be better maintained (sash window a bit skew-wiff, toilet seat hinge broken etc.) but otherwise everything fine.
Beautiful building in lovely location . Meals were excellent . Most staff very friendly and helpful .
Although the bedroom was lovely and very comfortable in the unusual heat we would have benefited from a fan .
Staff were helpful friendly and efficient. The room was well equipped and comfortable and in a great location. Very nice food downstairs
All good
Location filled what I required when booking. I was left to my own devices but help was rapidly given if asked for.
1. The mirror in the bathroom of the room occupied (The Dome) is too small and frankly, too low. I found it awkward to use to shave. I recommend that it should either be replaced with an unframed article in view of the position of the light above. (This remark was passed on to Management on leaving).
The following is not a "Dislike" but I feel that enquirers for accommodation should be aware.
2. People booking accommodation at No 6 The Square are very strongly advised to contact the management as soon as possible after doing so if they have mobility issues. Most of the rooms apparent to me are located up two flights of stairs. That known as "The Dome" and allocated to me, however, can only be reached after a further rather awkward and narrow flight of stairs. (This remark was not discussed with management but is included as I was not aware of the room allocated until after I had arrived)
Friendly and exceptionally helpful staff.
Nothing
A very interesting and unusual building,
centrally located in beautiful Buxton. The staff were all helpful, kind and efficient. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities very good. Delicious food in the tearooms.
Nothing to dislike! It was quite expensive, mainly because it was peak time in the Buxton festival.
I'd like to stay longer next time.
A very nice stay in a spacious room with a very comfortable bed.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good Location by the pavilion park , lovely accommodations although a little dated.
