Cons:

Nice rooms, comfortable pillows. Our main disappointment was the breakfast. Advertised as breakfast included then only to be given a few cheap pastry’s and a small cereal packet in a cool bag. Terrible, not allowing for allergies and food intolerances. I felt that I was ripped off .. the shower was nice when it worked, plus the mirror on the was fell off and bruised my arm and leg, luckily it didn’t break.
No one around when left to report issues too.

Ideal for a short visit
Pros:

I had read lots of reviews so knew what to expect, basic breakfast in a bag which was lacking juice and yoghurt mentioned in other peoples reviews so they must have stopped doing those. Shower was hard work to navigate but by the second day I had it figured out and wasn't either freezing one second or scalding the next. Super hot as in loft room and window for safety only partially opens. It was clean and had a little fridge with fresh milk in which I didn't need but there for the cereal and you can just get a small bottle of water in. It was clean comfortable and just a base for my son's graduation.

Cons:

The breakfast if I realised paying for it it would just be that, then I wouldn't bother. They should just sack it off and let people sort themselves out.

Not positive experience
Pros:

Pretty much nothing unfortunately

Cons:

- The room had no fans or aircon and it was boiling hot
- The toilet bowl had a leak and there was water on the floor
- the breakfast included was not a breakfast but a couple of packaged snacks
- the pub wasn’t serving food at all despite picture on the website of menu and cutlery (very misleading)
- very pricey for two night in such a poor stay

Room very small and very loud but comfortable bed.
Pros:

Nice location, bed was very comfortable.

Cons:

We stayed in room 2 and it was tiny, couldn’t open the en-suite door fully as it was so close to the bed, no wardrobe. Breakfast was some cereal and packets of pastries in a cool box. It was very loud, the doors throughout the pub / hotel slammed everytime someone closed it. They did provide ear plugs, which at first was a red flag but it did help! We had a dirty tea spoon in the room and someone’s used razor head, wifi password we were given didn’t work and when I called the pub to ask for help they said they didn’t know what the issue was. The bed was very comfy and I guess you get what you pay for, it was a cheap base for us to use while our son graduated.

Glad it’s over
Pros:

Reasonably noisy location with hot rooms, no fans and very limited window opening ability.
Breakfast was poor, second rate croissant and no butter nor any ground coffee for the pot provided. There was fresh milk but I take both tea and coffee black. Bed was rock hard and the mattress lacked generosity. Nowhere to hang anything. Shower could have been a foot higher with better temperature regulation.

Disappointing.
Pros:

Convenient

Cons:

Bedroom 2 very cramped and hot. No fan available. Windows made it noisy with barking dog and traffic noise. Ear plugs on the windowsill not much help! Breakfast was very minimal, so went to the bakery opposite. Cafetière filled the 2 cups half full. Parking difficult and satnav sent us up a dead end behind the pub, still no parking.

Disappointing , don’t go there , not a holiday venue .
Pros:

Someone once bothered with decor. The bed was big . The linen was clean .

Cons:

The reality did not match the info when booking. No meals on site , no chef for weeks prior to our booking . Despite polite barmaid ? ( and assistant?) the place didn’t feel safe .A couple of fibs told ? Eg , ‘hotel fully booked for the week’ when clearly , we were the only booking ! Takeaways around but no High St vibe , no cafes or restaurants. Bus stop outside but no frequent buses ! We stayed one night , as we had travelled for 9 hours - managed to book somewhere else , in Falmouth , fortunately . A place that has had its day ?

Very positive and joyful stay overall.
Pros:

Cozy place, excellent location, very friendly staff, satisfying value for money.

Cons:

The room was a bit small (mainly the height), but that wasn't an issue for us.

Pleasant, easy, clean and good value.
Pros:

The barman. He was amazing, juggling everything on his own. Very kind and polite all night long. Great guy. Also, the dog treat pack. Brilliant.

Cons:

That the window only opened a little, I assume for H&S reasons, but it was just so hot. We struggled to sleep. No fan/vent/ alternative window.
The shower wasn’t the best.

Unexpected slightly disappointing stay
Pros:

We love this pub, but this once our stay was suboptimal, and there was no option to give feedback directly to the venue

Cons:

The electric shower in Room 6 is very temperamental and often turns cold or without pressure. There were lots of hairs on the shower wall as well this time when we arrived, it wasn't clean. The coffee granules in the breakfast bag were 5 months out of date. And the breakfast items in the fridge did not get replenished for the second night.

We will come again, and hope all these things will be resolved.

Great! Excellent location for exploring
Pros:

Excellent stay in a great location in the lovely town of Penryn. Our second stay here and it’s a great pub

Cons:

The nature of an old building means the rooms at the top of the building get very hot.

Really poor nights sleep.
Pros:

Location is right on the town high street.

Cons:

Room was tiny.
Breakfast hamper provided had dirty cereal bowls.
Bed was uncomfortable, sloped to one side.
Too many cushion for a room so small, couldn't move around freely.
The refreshments are kept in a nook in the room which arent easy to get to.
The room is directly opposite a cottage that offered very little privacy unless I kept the blinds down.
The toilet was positioned too close to the wall, making using it very difficult.
Parking close to the hotel is nigh on impossible.

Great value for money, plan your parking ahead.
Pros:

Well situated in the town. Lovely bedroom and bathroom (room 5). Nice touches with coffee and tea making facilities, a mini fridge, free water and ear plugs. Very friendly staff.

Cons:

A noisy busy street below but we already knew this, and we were provided with earplugs! Bit disappointed with no cooked breakfast option but we were provided with a great continental ’hamper’ in the room; we just had to sit on the bed to eat it.

Frustratingly disappointing
Pros:

The bathroom was beautifully tiled.

Cons:

I arrive to find that the kitchen was closed and would also be closed the following day due to ‘cuts’. I had been travelling for 6 hours on one of the hottest days of the year and was directed to the nearby takeaway.

The ‘hotel’ was advertised as having breakfast included in the deal. Breakfast consisted of a bag left on the room filled with mini cereals, plastic wrapped croissants, UhT milk. The room had no air-con and was incredibly hot and small.

The first and best experience in cornwall
Pros:

The staff are very nice and friendly and the location is great because it's close to everywhere. The drinks are amazing in the room, cold and cool drinks in the mini fridge and hot chocolate is great! Shower room is nice and morden and bed is comfortable! The first and the best experience in cornwall!

Cons:

No
