The pub
The traffic noise
Staff were brilliant. Look of room generally nice. Plenty of amenities.
Bed frame was a bit creaky and probably needs updating. Shower was a little dirty.
Room 1 and 7, which we stayed in, had everything what you need when travelling with a family of 5!
The rooms looked very modern with beautiful decorations and details.
We had a fridge, a kettle, a hairdryer, ironing board and iron if we needed.
Variety of tea, coffee and milk available.
Beds were so comfortable with loads of pillows and spare blankets and duvets if needed.
We also had TVs with Netflix and internet access.
We didn't expect much from the rooms as we were staying only one night, but the rooms were absolutely outstanding!
We were so impressed.
We also had a separate entrance to our accommodation.
As it was a weekend, we could hear some live music from outside which was lovely.
If you do not like it, the owner looked after this also and provided ear defenders !
Cannot blame anything in the property.
Clean, comfortable and affordable!
We found it tricky to adjust the temperature in the shower.
Excellent location for both Penryn and Falmouth with a bus stop right outside. Very comfortable bed and overall good value for money. Separate access to the pub which makes coming and going very easy.
Our room was quite hot and no fan or AC was provided. Luckily we bought our own so that made a huge difference. Our room was also provided with ear plugs as it was next to the main door to the rooms, so we had a lot of traffic coming and going and it is an old building with loud floors and doors. This didn't bother us because we were generally getting in late when it was quiet but this might affect light sleepers. Breakfast was a bit of a let down as it was a cool bag with the same thing every day. A couple of croissants, cereal, and enough brewed coffee for one cup. It was very basic so I wouldn't consider breakfast being properly included. You certainly don't turn it down, but not what you generally come to expect with an included breakfast. They did say the kitchen was out so possibly if it reopens proper options might be included in the future.
We stayed in a standard double. The decor was smart and the building had character.
Previously we stayed in room 1 which was a large double and very nice. This time we stayed in room 6 which was a small as no large room available. Not recommended. Bed uncomfortable and room quite cramped. Shower was intermittent due to low water pressure.
Very conveniently located to visit campus and Falmouth
Found front bedroom a little noisy from road and dog friendly room next door
Sehr gut … schöne Zimmereinteilung, little Breakfast im Zimmer: Tee, Kakao, Kekse …
The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
The restaurant no longer served food, and the breakfast for the room had changed. They use to give you orange juice and yogurt, now it’s just croissants and cereal. The refrigerator didn’t stay cold. The shower was terrible, it had two temperatures, scalding hot or freezing so I had to take cold showers. Also the weather was so hot and there was no fan or air making it difficult to sleep. It was the 3rd time I have stayed there and it was definitely a worse experience. I would choose a different accommodation next time.
Sehr nette Barmen, gemütliche Lage, und unten im Haus ist gleich ein Pub mit selbstgebauten Bieren. Das Zimmer ist zweckmässig und die betten sind sehr bequem.
Enough said already thank you
Good location, clean and provided ear plugs.
The doors slam, it would have been nice if there were warnings or courtesy notes asking people to try to softly close doors. It's noisy, with people walking past - but ear plugs are provided. The shower loses pressure and is either scalding hot or cold depending on other people showering.
On a note for our booking, we had requested late check in, and that we would be arriving after hours. I also re-messaged on the day, and our friends who were also staying in the hotel had called to ask for instructions. They were informed that an email would be sent - however it wasn't. We called all numbers, but didnt get through to staff.By chance we saw where the lockboxes were, found keys and hoped that these were for our rooms and didn't have other people asleep in the rooms. Still no message and no interaction with any staff.
I live the thoughtfulness of providing airplugs
Communication about late check-in was subpar, we did not receive late check-in information in writing and we’ve been told we would
Shower is interesting it’s either too cold or too hot because there are no boiler
Was right in middle of Penryn. It’s was clean and the bed very comfortable
Very noisy. They provided earplugs but rooms are steer facing and an old building so you hear everything from street, traffic, bins collection, music until later. People talking outside. I expected some noise due to being above a pub but not to the extent of late night then really early.
I wanted a few quiet days away without getting up early for work but was awake even earlier due to noise.
No food on site. Breakfast was in a lunch bag. Nice enough but I would not normally eat cereal but had it as only thing offered. If they could not do breakfast then prefer to have a non bed and breakfast option and cheaper
Not a really pleasant night
First of all, the room was extremely tiny, It was also tricky to open up our luggages in order to get stuff out as there was no enough space at all.
Then, breakfast was included... A few things in a cool box placed in the room...Please, find attached the picture below... As well as, the french coffee machine and the bowls were quite dirty and rusty so obviously we did not have any breakfast there.. very disappointed...
Therefore, It has to be said that the hotel is based in a small town where is difficult to find places where to go for dinner/lunch... So glad at least was well connected to Falmouth.
