Location, was only quick uber ride into the city centre . And there a nice couple of pubs near by that do lovely food .
When we arrived we got checked in and taken to our room , the room we were shown was beautiful. An hour into our stay I had a one for the staff member come find me at the bar and said that someone from reception needed to speak to me . When I got there they then told me they had given us the wrong room and we needed to move , sent their apologies and said they were going to upgrade us from the original booking . When we arrived at the room unfortunately as lovely as the room was met with constant noise from the outside. Bagging and clattering going on. Wheeled bins being dragged around glass bottles being emptied into another bin .I believe the location of the room must of been at the back of the kitchens and where all the rubbish must be kept . Unfortunately this meant it was a lack in sleep.
Nice location nice staff and happy cleaners
Room worn and windows deteriorated bad
Lovely hotel. A great location for visiting Chester. Nice room and spa tasty food.
We had a problem with our room. It was a very hot day, 32 degrees outside. Our towell rail in the bathroom would not turn off. Consequently we had a very poor night's sleep with the heat. We had 2 fans in the room and windows wide open but did nothing ro help. We complained when we were given the room and were told all rooms were the same, so we didn't ask to change room. However our son, who had another room did not have the same issue. We complained again to reception but all the lady said was she would tell maintenance.
The staff were lovely. Especially John at the front desk who shown us around the hotel. The food was delicious
The room was slightly outdated but didn’t bother us
Friendly staff, spacious rooms
Pool could have been open longer
Everything
N/a
Beautiful, vast grounds. The hotel itself has a perfect mix of a modern feel to a traditional setting. The spa facilities were great, although we didn’t get any treatments as it was out of our budget. The location was convenient as it was only a 10 minute taxi into the gorgeous Chester.
The room we stayed in, despite being perfectly clean and comfortable, was slightly underwhelming as it was small and didn’t look like the photos, however the bathroom was gorgeous (albeit possibly larger in size than the bedroom itself!).
Lovely hotel with lovely staff.
Breakfast was fabulous.
Beautiful grounds & setting.
Nothing
Liked room access directly to garden through patio door. Breakfast was very good so was the waiting staff.
Internet access very poor did report to reception was told that some one would come to look but no one did.
Last night of stay the hotel hosted a Prom event with party guests sitting outside my patio door had to pull the curtains as I felt uncomfortable. The cleaning of the room was a poor almost as if done in a rush
Facilities, cleanliness and staff were very accommodating and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble to make our stay comfortable.
As vegetarian, more options on the menu.
Lovely situation
Nothing it was very good
Great location and very quiet
The building was beautiful, and unlike some of these older buildings, had all the modern comforts you could want without loosing character. The staff were kind and friendly. As a first time spa goer, the facilities convinced me that I'd like to go again, but I don't know how they compare to others. The room we stayed in was comfy with a nice view, and well with the money we paid. The food was good quality as well (had dinner and breakfast) Would definitely stay there again.
The only flaw: there wasn't and milk or creamer in the room to go with the kettle and tea facilities.
The spa , swimming pool refreshing and relaxing after a long day. The rooms we're very comfortable good nights sleep. Very warm welcome from the guy on reception.
The dining experience could have been slightly better. The young girls chatting , waiting to take our order had to prompt them and disturb their little get together in order to order food.
When food did come out ,items missing had to wait. Level of business was not busy . Had to ask for toast at breakfast. To be fair they are probably new recruits settling in ,getting to know each other.
