Maligaya Beach Bungalows

We had an overall decent stay at Maligaya Beach Bungalow. The staff were friendly, helpful, and provided goid service throughout our visit. The location is good, although the entrance to the hotel is along a narrow and somewhat dirty road with unpleasant-smelling water and roosters crowing frequently. Also lots of ants and several brown outs during our stay.

Our main issue was with the laundry service offered by the hotel. We used it twice, and several items were returned discolored, with brown stains and a noticeably darker color. We reported the problem the evening before our departure. The hotel attempted to help, but only two machine-washable items could be rewashed due to time constraints. Several linen garments remained affected, and we still do not know whether they can be restored or if they are permanently damaged.

What disappointed us most was the handling of the situation. The hotel was reluctant to take responsibility, arguing that the laundry provider was at fault. Since the laundry service is offered through the hotel, we believe the responsibility ultimately lies with them. We suggested a simple solution: removing the laundry charges from our bill. Unfortunately, this was rejected. Later, the manager offered a 50% discount on the laundry, but we were told this would be deducted from the employees' salaries, which we found unacceptable.

In addition, the clothes that were supposed to be rewashed were not returned by our agreed departure time. After several phone calls and delays, they finally arrived wet, making us late for the airport.

We spent 5 nights there and with possible damaged clothes, and the owner still fought about the remaining laundry bill of approx 10 $,

First off is the access to the property going down uneven steep steps some up to 18 inches tall with no handrail. My knees were in decent shape having recovered from a minor surgery several months before with lots of exercise. Unfortunately these stairs damaged both my knees enough to affect the rest of the month in the Philippines. The sewage smells walking on the uneven path to the property after the stairs was a bit rich for a first impression. The room was constructed of the cheapest materials and it took me 4 days to get them to fix the only door into the room so that it could open without a lot of effort. The shower floor sharing the space with the bathroom sink was something I would expect from a hotel that’s more than half the price. Beachfront is really a poor description with the closest swim able beach 5 miles away. I have never given any property booked on Booking.com such a poor rating.

Nous avons été envahit par des termites volantes une nuit, sans que nous puissions rien faire. Elles se sont multipliés par milliers dans la chambre. Le personnel n’a rien pu faire.

We had a trail of ants that kept getting in and dragging sand along the front of the room.

Prijs is erg hoog, je betaalt voor de locatie vermoed ik. Maar de locatie was nou ook weer niet zó geweldig.

The beach was not great in front of the hotel. You have to travel to other beaches. And the entrance alley way to the hotel has an open sewer running along it which doesn’t smell great as you approach the hotel from the road.

We had booked the sea view room which was nice but it would be nice to cut the trees a little so we can actually have a view ;)
It would be nice to have some sun loungers on the beach like other hotels do.

It’s not really the their fault but the little stream of waste water that runs down the side of the property and into the sea is smelly and I wouldn’t swim in the area in front of the bungalows .

The shower in the bathroom can be improved, as there is no curtain or divider in the floor, so it tends to get all wet.
