Pleasant and relaxing stay close to York.
Pros:

Breakfast choices werw good. Some spa treatments were lovely. Poil was a goid size. Room size was nice.

Cons:

Receiving a bill on my last morning even though everything had been paid as we went. We had 5 spa treatments between us over 3 days - the last treatment was very short and we felt like our loyalty to the spa was not recipricated. Most staff were lovely - there was one lady who was very brusque at front desk.

Nice hotel with a nice spa near York.
Pros:

Big room with tea and coffee facilities in the room.Nice swimming pool next door and restaurant the fat abbot and a thai restaurant. Great breakfast.

Expensive for what it is
Pros:

The scenery, gardens were lovely. The spa facilities were also good just annoying its not connected to the hotel as having to walk through the rain wasn't ideal.

Cons:

The breakfast wasn't nice at all. There were barely any pastries left, the yoghurt bowl was empty as was the compote, the scrambled eggs didnt look like scrambled eggs Ive ever had, it just looked like vomit, and the sausages like bullets. We ended up getting breakfast elsewhere for the rest of our stay.
The hotel looks very dated, and our room was the same. It also needed a good dust! Not sure what the cleaner was using in the main areas but it was so potent it actually became intolerable and you couldn't sit in the main areas.
The staff were nice but I actually mistook one of them as a tour guide due to their uniform, its like a tracksuit and doesnt fit in with the type of place it is. The reception desk was a complete mess and looked so untidy. When asking for extra tea bags and sugar the gentleman who worked there always seemed put out, as they weren't replaced automatically we had to ask! The rooms fuse box had a loud hum, that got worse over the days. I did tell them in the day we left so it was reported.
The food at the pub was ok, but staff seemed put out and it was expensive for what we got, as the food wasn't the best just normal pub fare.
Spa was ok, you have to pay for your towels, and the jacuzzi water wasn't the cleanest.

Very comfortable stay , work away a lot and was one of tbe best night sleep
Pros:

Beautiful location , the pub on site was brilliant and the staff were really nice . Food was also top class . Staff on reception where very friendly and welcoming

Cons:

Felt the room was not what I expected for it to be classed as a deluxe or an upgrade . TV was also pretty basic
