Beautiful building with good food but a disappointing interior
Pros:

A beautiful property with a lovely pub next door that served delicious and reasonably priced food.

Cons:

The “spa” facilities were dire. The changing rooms were filthy, nowhere near enough loungers for around the pool. I think there were 9? I’m 32 weeks pregnant and walked in, awkwardly sat on a bistro chair for a while before succumbing to the fact nobody wants to sit on a bistro chair to relax, getting up and leaving. Also, £1.50 for a towel?? For hotel guests? Crazy. The towels and robes also had a funny smell.

The rooms, particularly in the coach house I think it was called? Shocking. Actually left in the 80s. They were clean however, so that’s fair.

Just could really do with some money spending on it. Such a shame as it’s a beautiful building with fantastic grounds.

Definitely not 4*.

Pros:

The dining room and breakfast food. The staff were pleasant.

Cons:

The salutation on correspondence. I don't like being addressed by my surname only. I am not at school. Secondly, The Fat Abbott is noisy, the service is awful and the food was just about average.

Ok but wouldn’t stay again not worth the money at all
Pros:

Looked nice on arrival and plenty of parking

Cons:

For the price you pay it is definitely not a 4 star rooms we’re tired and worn we was in the coach house. The breakfast staff need better training on how to speak to customers and not so rude

Best Place for a short Break
Pros:

We have been to the parsonage regularly about 10 years. We know the staff and they always make us welcome. We love the spa particularly the pool it is a decent length. You always meet interesting people from far and wide. Next door is the ideal place to eat; The Fat Abbot although I wish they would change the menu from time to time. We like to relax in peace an quiet and the lounge and conservatory are the ideal places to do this. The location of the Parsonage is ideal for York designer Outlet and York itself. The breakfasts are delicious and cater for all tastes.

Cons:

There is nothing I disliked

Pros:

Spa and the staff

Cons:

Unfortunately I had reserved a double and single room. I got a double which was unacceptable. However, after 2moves staff sorted it out. It was an added stress that I didn't need after a day travelling. I booked this hotel as I like the room set up that I have chosen. This is the most important thing for us as my partner is tall and a normal twin is usually uncomfortable.

A fantastic hotel with great gym and spa facilities, we’re already planning our next visit
Pros:

A lovely property. I’d been in touch prior to our visit to see if they could arrange a little goodie basket for our son as a congratulations on finishing his A-Levels and they really helped to make it personal to what he could have and would enjoy. A great gym and swimming pool

Cons:

The gym/spa are outside the hotel in separate building and so was the main restaurant which wasn’t a problem for us in the summer but could be a problem in a winter
