The location was convenient for visiting the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The room itself was clean, and we appreciated receiving a refund for the second night that we were unable to use.

Cons:

We stayed during the heatwave, and the room was unbearably hot. There was no air conditioning or fan, and despite only getting around two hours’ sleep on the first night, the hotel was unwilling to provide any solution. When we asked if a fan could be supplied, we were simply told to buy our own. Considering the cost of the room, this was very disappointing and felt completely unaccommodating.

The room was genuinely too hot to sleep in, so we had no choice but to cancel our second night and book somewhere else. While we were refunded for the unused night, there was no acknowledgement or compensation for the extremely poor first night’s stay. We were also told that no other guests had complained, which was difficult to believe given how unbearable the temperature in the room was.

Lovel, clean accomodation in a pretty court yard.

Freshly cooked. You had to pre order the night before. No cereal, fruit or toast unless you paid extra and pre ordered night before.

Cons:

We had paid through booking.com but when we arrived we were asked to pay again on check in. We are still struggling to get our money back for the double payment. Very frustrating/ lots of our time spent sending emails back and forth, providing evidence from bank statements etc. It’s been nearly 2 months since we stayed and we’re still waiting for the refund.

Limited food menu - nothing very low fat.
We chose to eat somewhere else the second night
