Unkomplizierter check in
Decent enough location, being close to Vienna Central station, Belvedere Palace, Naschmarkt.
Also walkable to the innere stadt/town centre where the attractions are.
Very thoughtful by providing nice toiletries (shampoo, soap, lotion) from Saint Charles Apothecary, water and snacks.
Cool interior. Spacious.
Floor was slightly dusty. No air-condition which would be an issue especially during hotter times of spring and summer.
It’s big and you have a lot of privacy
There could be more coffee cups
No 5 star hotel will give you all the amenities being given by you. Thanks
The location of Graetzlhotel bei Belvedere is convenient in terms of access to the U-Bahn, the Hauptbahnhof and the Belvedere (the last of these is c.0.7 km from 55 Argentinierstrasse). There is a supermarket on the other side of the street. One can walk down to the Ring (ca, 1 km) in about 20 minutes.
The code that I received did not open the door of the room that I had been allocated (415). When I phoned, I was given a different code (for the room next door - 414) and thus obtained the key. However the lock on the door had previously been damaged and so opening the (metal) street door, which gives direct access to the room, required shoulder butting by two people. Contact prior to my arrival had not been easy.
I did not like: 1. the fact that the room opened straight onto the street; 2. the fact that the room was a poorly converted former storage area. The room had been minimally furnished (a jumble of low-grade pieces) and tastelessly decorated; the floor had no covering (it was mainly raw screed); the lighting was inadequate (mainly a mixture of portable free-standing lamps); the painted brickwork on the walls was patchy. 3. the fact that the accommodation was described as a hotel. It offered little ot the facilities (or the quality) that one associates even with the basic, no-frills accommodation or liimited-service hotels. The bedding, the wash basin, the toilet (perhaps the TV, and the coffee machine which I did not use) were isolated instances of standard quality provision in what was otherwise an extremely low-grade facility.
Location handy near the main train station yet relatively pleasant quiet and peaceful street. Beds were comfortable and shower was great.
We had a few issues working out how to use things like safe and other equipment but no one really to assist nor any instructions as it was Saturday afternoon and it wasn't an emergency. The main lights were fading in and out due to what appeared to be a loose/faulty switch which was quite annoying.
