Magic in El Cuyo
Pros:

We loved everything about our stay at Casa Cuyo. It is a very small, intimate hotel and has a peaceful, welcoming energy about the place. Our room was a great size and had good storage for clothes. We found we didn't need to use the air con very much, only very shortly before bedtime as it tended to feel naturally cool. We loved that there is a very well equipped kitchen that you can use and water is available at all times. The pool was a welcome bonus when it became too hot to sit on the beach (no shade on the beach) and the location was great for restaurants. There is a wonderful Mexican and Italian a stone's throw from the hotel. I particularly loved the garden and the bird watching was spectacular. Upstairs has a balcony overlooking the baseball pitch and the trees and shrubs next to the hotel are home to many species; you don't even need binoculars to see them. What really sets this hotel apart though is Carlos, who is an absolute treasure; he was so helpful and went out of his way to check we were comfortable and having a good time. He gave us a lift on his motorbike to the start point of our tour and gave up his own time to accompany us on the boat as our Spanish is so poor and the captain's English was limited; we will never forget his generosity. We were gutted to find on arrival home that the hotel is up for sale and really hope that if it continues as a going concern, that the magic doesn't evaporate. An unforgettable holiday, thank you Carlos.

Erholsamer Aufenthalt im Paradies
Pros:

A beautiful stay in a relaxing beach town, but room for small improvements to the service.
Pros:

The location is great, quite area of town and next to the baseball field gives more space that other hotels had. The terrace area outside the upstairs bedrooms was nice and it was useful to have access to a kitchen. Air conditioning worked very well and unlike a lot of hotels we looked at in El Cuyo, the curtains were dark enough to keep the morning sun out and the bathroom had a proper door for privacy.

Cons:

The lighting in the room was very dark, plenty of windows but it was too dark to read at night. The bedding and towels had some stains on, it was obvious they were well cleaned but could do with being refreshed I think. The drinking water did run out at one point and there was no one there to top it up, this was rectified later in the day but it’s a bit of a pain.
