The Ram Inn

When we arrived there was a wedding party at the bar where a young lady was serving…. And also dealing with the accommodation. As she was busy I waited patiently whilst a full round of drinks were purchased ( rightly so they were celebrating. When she finished I said that I was needing to check in but she insured that she had already given a jet to me. She then produced a key fir a room across the road and not in the pub accommodation. The room was a above the main reception area where the wedding party were going to hold the evening celebrations.A guy appeared from another room ( I think he was something to do with the accommodation and asked if we were part of the wedding party. I replied no to which he said “good luck” your toon is right over the main party room but not to worry as it would all be finished at 11:30pm. Every bone in my body wanted to leave but we had made arrangements for the next day and it was too late to organise anything else.I deceived to have a drive and found a lovely Italian restaurant that we intended to be as late as possible.when we returned the place was banging with everyone having a great time- but so was our room as it sounded like we were sitting on a speaker.The Quilt had suspicious stains so we threw this on the floor following inspection the rest of the bedding was cleaned as was the mattress. Only 1 towel for a double room, no bedside cabinet so lights were on the floor and only 1 cup for tea,we couldn’t wait to leave. There was nobody to complain to and am sure they were all at the wedding and I was not prepared to engage in that environment. Talking shouting and conversations going on outside my window until gone2 in the morning.I took photos to show friends and colleagues and also any staff… if I could find anybody.

Nothing I didn’t like but to help for future business there was not enough towels provided and no toiletries like shower gel etc just need little finishing touches like bin toilet brush and shower gel to make the bathroom complete
But other than that was a lovely stay and would use again and recommend to others

I was sent over the road to their sister hotel, the Brandon House.
As I found out there were no bedside tables, no wardrobe , no toiletries in the en suite bathroom and no curtains on the windows to the en suite bathroom or frosted glass to the windows which were large and at the front of the building facing the main road - really private when visiting the toilet and having a shower !!
The property was clearly under refurbishment and will be very good when it is finished.
Went to checkout at 7.20 am on the Sunday but there was nobody about or even
a reception area . The Ram Hotel was locked up so I posted the room key through the letter box.
Had a wedding reception at the hotel and seemed a trifle disorganised

The wedding reception playing music until 2 am so was hard to sleep

no chairs and table in our room (but we hat camping equipment with us, so no problem for us). No wifi (yet?) in the house (but we hat unlimited data on all UK nets, so no problem for us).

More fans to circulate air. It was like a brick over on the the 3rd floor.

Nothing

The ram is on an extremely busy road, its busy from 5am till 10 at night. The windows dont close properly so stop no noise. The toilet had thick black limescale down it , the carpet was filthy the room had an odour. Just all needed a revamp and a deep clean wouldn't of gone a miss.

toliet cramped in room two. No soap or handwash. Had to ask for second bath towel. No de-caf coffee available. Quite loud traffic noises. Window in room five would not open.

It is an old building and you can hear traffic noise from the busy main road
