I was well looked after, enjoyed the food 😋 great location 👍
Nothing
Accommodation and locatiopn fine.
Breakfast offering was abit thin. Just cooked and toast + coffee.
Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Staff were very friendly and free parking was also good.
Bathroom was pretty run down with major signs of previous leaks from the radiator and just generally felt a bit tired.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Room was very clean.
Lots of noisy traffic from the road outside. Also a hum of an extractor fan. Could not close the double glazing because the catch was broken. Communication with Town House prior to arrival was very bad - no response to my email about a safe storage place for a bike, and impossible to speak to someone on the phone.
Room spacious comfy and modern and the staff are amazing
Nothing
A fabulous view over the river made the stay memorable.
Unfortunately the whole place (apart from our bathroom which seemed to have been recently renovated) was in need of a lot of work.
Handy location
Accommodation area very poorly ventilated. Stuffy, permanent pub smell.
Lovely old building , with very well appointed rooms.
Pub closed at 10 on sat night .
Guess that is a positive as well .
Good location nicely away from the city centre. Great view over the river. Room was nicely equipped and clean.
Covenient location
Very noisy due to drunken football fans trying to get into the room!
When this was raised the following day with management they were unapologetic.
Food was good, locafion good aswell staff very helpful
No air conditioning, that was really awful in this heat.
Linen and bathroom were clean. It had a car park.
The downstairs bar is very run down and rough. Numerous locks and security doors to get to room make you nervous that you are at risk at the property. Damage around doorframe also added to concern that the door had been forced open at some point.
Convenience to City
Room to small fot the double bed.
The view from our bedroom (room 8) was very nice, we overlooked the river, swans, signets, a few gently passing rowers.
The food was more than ample and well presented.
It’s not that we didn’t like anything it was the hotel was exceptionally busy and being disabled the parking was difficult for us but this isn’t a complaint because we checked in late and most places were full, we could have arrived earlier and beat the this issue. There were stairs however they were wide, plenty of hand rails, the treads were wide so really no difficulty in actual fact.
The room was just perfect- loads of plug sockets, all appliances we needed, even a fan anticipating the hot weather, the bathroom seemed brand new. Room made up daily with fresh towels.
Great welcome from everyone and given a chilled bottle of water each day.
We loved the private garden at the back, made full use of scanning the code to get table service! Plenty of parking even when really busy. Easy to catch bus into town outside the hotel.
No complaints at all really- we didn’t have breakfast/carvery as both looked a bit baked under the hot buffet lights, but that’s probably due to hot weather. There was still plenty of choice and many other guests were enjoying it.
Good location, relaxing atmosphere, quiet area. Friendly staff , clean room , tasty breakfast. Really enjoyed the stay. I would stay again definitely
The room was clean and well thought out. The wardrobe was clever. Fan was a great addition. Value for money, indeed. The room looked out to the river, which was beautiful. Housekeeping was always perfect. Any small issues were quickly sorted out.Curtains gave good coverage and blocked out the light really well. Toiletries were lovely. Bed firm and clean. Bathroom spotless. Thank you so much
Natural soap and a shower cap would be a great addition.
There was an old water mark on the ceiling and a bottom corner part of the wall where the plaster had been knocked off the wall. It wouldn't have taken a lot to fix these.
The corridor doors are 2 tiny doors opening separately which are very difficult to get through with a suitcase!
Downstairs in the restaurant, the decor was dated and worn. The tables were soooooo sticky and needed a good scrub with soapy water and a brush. Menus were also sticky.
Ice cream machine 'toppings' were 50p apart from one microscopic candy one ( which seemed petty).
At breakfast, my partner asked for a scrambled egg and he was told that the chef wasn't allowed to do it as it 'wasn't on the menu and he'd get in trouble'!
