View serene, location quiet, and back balcony was spacious.
Bedsheet was damp due to no air circulation, fans were not cooling. Room smelled moldy, like old wet towels. Adding A/C for the rate would have been preferred. Most expensive one night stay in Laos thus far. I am visiting Laos for a month and average rooms $12 -$20 from north to south. This river lodge had a monopoly due to the mandatory lay over when traveling by slow boat from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang and sadly it was disappointing. We rented 2 rooms and both parties did not get a restful sleep after traveling in a slow boat for 5 hours, but thankful regardless for the hot shower.
Great location a short walk from the slowboat terminal. Stunning views of the Mekong river from our balcony. Excellent value in a jungle-style cabin. Breakfast was simple but a quick snack before boarding the boat.
Drain smell in toilets was bad but considering the location in the jungle this is expected. No a/c just fans and mosquito nets but again it’s a jungle cabin experience!
The location is wonderful, with stunning views of the Mekong at dawn and sunset.
The cleaning of the head pillows, with strong humid smell and dirty.
The view from our shared terrace was amazing.
The hotel picked up our luggage and took it up the steep slope to the hotel from our boat we caught at Luang Prabang.
We would have been happy staying extra nights, but booked our onward travel the following day.

La situation géographique de l'hôtel en fait un lieu parfait pour une halte à Pakbeng au milieu d'une croisière sur le Mékong. Superbe vue sur la rivière. Lits équipés de moustiquaires
Eclairage un peu sombre dans la chambre et même si nous avions des ventilateurs au plafond, l'air conditionné nous a un peu manqué
La vue complètement dingue sur le Mékong. Les chambres sont très belles et très propres. Le personnel est très attentionné et prévenant. Bon petit déjeuner.

I stayed for one night during the slow boat trip from Chiang Rai to Luang Prabang and I can say it was the best decision to choose this place. I had the balcony room and it was absolutely amazing. The view was fabulous. The bed was very good. The bathroom was clean. The room is very cozy with the wooden walls. I had no problems with mosquitoes. The ac was working.
It is true that if you buy the room right there at the reception it is a little cheaper, but they are not guaranteed to have a room available so I would still book it in advance. The breakfast was a little small for me. Only a plate with fruits, tea/coffee, bread, butter and jam.
