Such a shame to let what would be such a lovely place had it not been left to run down. Windows were broken as in could

Very disappointing and inconvenient experience
Cons:

We clarified and got the ok from Booking.com that we could arrive later than 9 pm as we were coming from a wedding . When we arrived at 10pm the hotel was closed. We phoned them up but there was no answer. We knocked and still no reply. Nobody came. We waited 20 minutes trying to see how to get somebody’s attention As we were in the middle of the countryside we had no other possibility than driving back to London.

Extremely hot room with no ventilation. However lots of parking and good breakfast.

Breakfast was good.
Staff serving breakfast was lovely.

Cons:

Room was extremely hot. Skylight blind didn’t open and skylight window didn’t open so no way to cool the room. As soon as we checked in we had to head straight out to meet family. Though the room was extremely hot (even with 2 fans running constantly when we arrived) we assumed we could open the window when we got back later in the evening to cool the room. By the time we got back in the evening we realised the windows were nailed shut and it was too late to ask for a change of room. 2 adults and 2 kids in an extremely hot room with no ventilation made it a very uncomfortable night sleep.

Pleasant stay.
Pros:

Pleasant breakfast and service. The shower was excellent and the bed was comfortable. The courtyard was well kept.

Cons:

Rooms were adequate but need a bit of TLC - my lamp was broken, hairdryer needed replacing, needed more toiletries.

Given that we paid £98 per night for bed & breakfast the food & facilities were better than I expected
Pros:

The location was good, the staff were friendly & helpful
the dining room was well set out & comfortably, it was disabled friendly & there was a large car park.

Cons:

The shower room & toilet was very small.

Lovely hotel
Pros:

There needs to be blinds at the windows or lined curtains as it was too bright in the early hours. No TV signal. Maybe a little shelf in the bathroom to put you toiletries. Breakfast was lovely and the lady on breakfast duty worked really hard and was happy to help you. The young girl in the bar was very friendly and made you feel welcome.

Pros:

Staff were very welcoming. Food was good. We had the chicken wigs and burger. Free breakfast in the morning which was good enough
