In a perfect spot
The royal hotel as a whole,it was brilliant, a nice spacious room and a sea view,the food was excellent, hats off to the chef quick service.

The room was very spacious and clean, the facilities were very good. Will definitely use this hotel again.
The only thing that it could possibly have a mini fridge in the room. To keep the juices cool
No mini fridge, it would have been good to have one to keep water etc cold in the hot weather we had
Location is perfect for travelling around , leave the car and travel by bus

The room was spotless. A bonus having large fluffy towels. Plenty of storage with coat hangers. The snacks left in your room were amply. Didn’t bother us having no breakfast. There are plenty of places that do breakfast. We went to the retreat cafe in the high street had a breakfast for just under £10. Be warned it is served piping hot.

Straight away the welcome from the staff was friendly and so helpful, and all throughout our stay.
The location is the best. The view from our hotel room was breath taking of the sea and coast line.

Parking due to customers visiting the pub for meals etc which is understandable for trade but it made it difficult to park for myself who was staying there for a couple of nights ☹️

Fantastic view overlooking the bay. Room was ok, clean and had most things needed. Was lovely having breakfast provided and the top up bag was a good idea. A fridge was definatly needed in the room though as breakfast was warm and so were the drinks.
The shower had no power at all so wasnt good. Room was very hot aa there was no air conditioning in the building.
The room was very spacious, clean and well furnished. Tea/coffee making facilities. Also the alternative breakfast, ie fruit juice, flapjacks and choc-au-pain rolls was very welcome.
We didn’t eat in the pub/restaurant but enjoyed a cold drink in the pub garden.
We found the location ideal with the Downs across the road. Several eating places with 5-10 minutes walk. The beach is within walking distance or there’s the Cliff Railway down to the beach. There’s a regular bus service which goes to several other resorts, eg Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and Dawlish. There are lots of beautiful walks close by to.

Staff, comfort, cleanliness, location, parking, refreshments provided, sea view……everything really!
