Good location, staff were very friendly, choice of menu for evening meal not very good
Pros:

Did not have long to wait for breakfast which itself was very good with an excellent choice of menu.
We did not like the room we were first given and were later put into a much bigger bedroom which we liked.

Cons:

The stairs to our bedroom were quite steep and had a rope for a handrail which we found not easy to access or come down.
The Twin bedroom we were fist allocated was not what we had envisaged, the two beds had no access around them except for a small gap down the middle making it difficult to get in and out of bed. The room itself was small with a brick wall to look onto, the bath room was the only thing that came up to 4 star standard. Very disappointed.
Parking was not very good and it was up to you to find a space on the road outside the hotel.

Alnmouth comfort and friendliness are all here!
Pros:

Staff were so friendly. Location brilliant. Lovely snuggy bar. And so dog friendly in a sensible way. Food excellent particularly breakfasts and very good value.

Cons:

Little things a bit tired in room - peeling paint around shower, broken loo seat which was fixed the next day to be fair.

This place has it all!
Pros:

Comfy king size bed, great room atmosphere and bathroom size. Bathroom was already heated upon our arrival. Staff was very friendly and helpful! The included breakfast was made to order from a good menu of selections.Great location, very charming. Good pubs & restaurants nearby, very walkable.Great English experience!

Cons:

Coffee in the room wasn't great. Loved the biscuits upon arrival though!

Very relaxed and very comfortable coastal stay.
Pros:

The hotel and hotel staff proved to be very relaxed and easy going, with no affectation, and very friendly and efficient. Very comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast - and dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Cons:

Personally - nothing at all. For a small hotel in a coastal village, it is exactly what one hoped it would be.

A lovely stay at The Whittling House
Pros:

All the staff at the Whittling House were extremely friendly and helpful.
The breakfasts were amazing.

Cons:

Getting into the car park was very difficult to access and if there were already 3 cars in the car park, which you couldn’t see until you got down the narrow passage, then it was almost impossible to get out.

Exceptional
Pros:

The food was excellant and a good choice - esoecially sea food which is what we expected and the quality was great. Breakfasts where cooked to order and were served hot which is always a plus not not many hotels offer these days. But by far was the quality of staff service - after a mishap with losign my phone staff stepped in to help and could not have been more supportive. Special thanks to Elouise, Imogen, Hermione and Olivia (the later two who had to put up with me being really snappy late on Tuesday evening - and so were even more gracious the next day accepting my apology. I would stay here again and highly recommed it -

Cons:

The wifi was not strong enough to cope with TV signal and so my friend was unable to connect to watch her TV - it was a small thing but it perhaps needs boosters on the landings to help.

Good but not great
Pros:

Food not great. Ordered ribeye which was
good but arrived in a pool of giant baked beans. Prices extortionate for food supplied. Staff were lovely but got impression that they were only trying to keep they're job.

Great sandwiches and coffee
Pros:

We were struggling to find a dog friendly place in Alnmouth for a sandwich. We came across the Whittling House and ordered a couple of sandwiches and coffees. Both were really good, the coffee had flavour and the sandwiches were beautiful, not your standard two sliced slapped over a few bits of salad. I had the BLT and it was served on Italian style bread with veggie crisps and a lovely coleslaw. Our dog was made most welcome too. Would definitely resvisit next time.

A great destination for a short break, food is lovely too
Pros:

Very conveniently situated on the main street, homely and welcoming. Very quiet at night despite the central location. Restaurant food was excellent. Staff were lovely: after we had checked out our car broke down on the street outside, they gave us free coffee and offers of food - they were really helpful whilst we waited for the RAC to come to sort us out

Cons:

Restaurant bench seats were a bit low for smaller people - maybe more cushions would sort that out. Breakfast options were large and tasty but maybe needs a bit more variety with regard to cereal and toast.

Hübsches, gut ausgestattetes Zimmer, aber leider hellhörig
Pros:
