Great accommodation and food with lovely staff
Pros:

Lots of free parking. Clean and regularly serviced room. Food was great and staff were lovely.

Cons:

In the winter we wouldn’t have liked having to go outside to access the restaurant for food

bonne réactivité de la personne à la reception concernant un probleme de fermeture de porte : changement de chambre

nous sommes restés 3 nuits : nous avons eu un probleme avec le petit dejeuner le premier jour :il faut choisir parmi plusieurs menus de tarifs différents entre 4 et 12 livres : j'avais choisi un menu à 4 livres : toast et confiture auquel j'ai voulu rajouter des oeufs pochés pour 50 CTS : on m'apporté les oeufs à 50 cts sans les toasts et la confiture que j'ai du reclamer : la serveuse m'a dit que finalement il n'etait possible d'ajouter un supplement car j'avais prépayé le petit déjeuner ....alors le lendemain et le surlendemain j'ai pris le petit dejeuner à 10 livres sans probleme...et sans surcout supplémentaire...

Great for staying near Edinburgh
Pros:

Spacious, quiet room and very clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful with storing our bikes for us. Train about 2 miles away at Eskbank to get into Edinburgh Waverley. We got an Uber for day out in Edinburgh.

Ideale Unterkunft in der Nähe von Edinburgh
Pros:

Melville Inn ist ein traditioneller Pub im old-fashioned Style, die Hotelzimmer sind allerdings in einem Motelähnlichen neuen Gebäude nebendran (wussten wir aber vorher). Zimmer riesig und neu ausgestattet, Empfangspersonal sehr freundlich und hilft auch gern emit Infos weiter. Gut mit dem Auto erreichbar und kostenloser Riesenparkplatz vor der Tür. Frühstück soweit OK und auch lecker (wenn mitgebucht hat man die Auswahl à la Carte, aber nur ein Gericht z.B. English Full Breakfast oder Pancakes oder Porridge...). Portionen sind überschaubar und es gibt noch nicht mal Toast und Marmelade dazu (sonst üblich, aber hier kostet es ggf. extra), Das Hotel und die Lage ist ideal, wenn man die hohen Hotelkosten in Edinburgh umgehen möchte. Wir sind mit dem Bus (Bushaltestelle knapp 300 m entfernt, mehrere Linien) nach Edinburgh gefahren (konkurrenzlos günstig, Tagesticket Erwachsene 6 Pfund, Fahrtzeit bis City je nach Bus 25-30 Minuten, Busse fahren tagsüber alle 15 Min). Auto kannmal also ruhig stehenlassen.

Cons:

Service im Restaurant optimierungsfähig (lange Wartezeit auf Frühstückskarte und bis zur Bestellaufnahme), Pub macht um 22.30 Uhr (ist aber verständlich mangels Publikum)

Non ci hanno servito la colazione per un problema tecnico. Inoltre nelle stanze non si ha la possibilità di arieggiare la stanza perché le finestre non si possono aprire.
