Friendly hotel in the centre of town.
Pros:

Great location, large deluxe double room with good size bed. Nice toiletries. Plenty of tea & coffee in the room. Friendly staff particularly Harvey in the bar who made lovely cocktails and Lucy on reception who was very helpful. The small car park at the rear was a bonus. Room overlooked the market square. Lovely shops right on the door step. We would stay again.

Lovely stay, staff very helpful, gorgeous room and easy to park
Pros:

Our room was gorgeous really spacious with plenty of light. The shower was really powerful and easy to use. Bed was very comfortable and parking was ideal. Everything was great, the only downside was out of the kings control as we were woken up by building work just after 7am

Nice stay bad taste in my mouth over bad customer service

Cons:

Being robbed on my breakfast charged for 12 breakfasts over a 3 night stay which should be 6 when questioned they said contact bookings.com. got no joy will not be booking with booking.com or marathon inns again and will tell everyone about my bad experience

An enjoyable stay
Pros:

Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient free car parking was good. The room was clean and comfortable, very large double bed, and a walk in shower, but would have benefited from better storage. I think ours was one of the smaller rooms, because we did notice some others which were open for cleaning that were much more spacious and better equipped. The only complaint was breakfast. We had eggs Benedict and the poached eggs were over cooked so hard instead of runny. However, when I mentioned this to the manager at reception when paying for the breakfast , she very kindly and unexpectedly waived the charge. So, overall it was a great stay, and the location on the Market Square was perfect.

Great staff lovely room
Pros:

Nice room and great staff

Cons:

Incredibly noisy until midnight so if you’re staying there for a relaxing break I wouldn’t bother.
