Worth the stay, we got to see parts of the west coast we normally wouldn’t
Pros:

Great location just outside Hokitika. Spacious room and bathroom

Cons:

Carpet could use a refresh. Heating wasn’t good enough to get the room comfortable

Terrible service, average rooms
Pros:

Good restaurant. Possibly best burger in New Zealand. Also good beer selection.

Cons:

We had separate two bookings for one night because of last minute changes in planning. We asked at check-in if we could stay in the same room for both nights and we were told that it is not possible, without even a second to think or consider. We checked out the next morning at 10am from room n. 4 just to check-in the evening to the same room n.4, which just needed to be cleaned unnecessarily and we had to check-in and out from the same room. Terrible customer service. Lady at reception/bar looked very bored and bothered by us. Room number 4 doesnt have any wifi. It probably works in first room, but doesnt reach the last room.

Misleading photos and communications non existant.

Cons:

View from the verandah was of the Carpark and scrap vehicles. Manager not on site on arrival and pup closed. Email 24 hrs earlier said restaurant would be open. Called manager in morning but went to voice mail. Messaged manager through Booking.com no response to either. Did not stay for second night.

Simple accommodation,
Pros:

Situated slightly outside Hokitika with nice views, good sized rooms, easy parking,

Cons:

The reason we chose it was because the pub was handy but was closed the night we stayed, it would've been nice to know this when we booked. So we had to drive back into Hokitika to find a place to eat. Could do with some bedside lighting as the over head lighting is very bright. The security lighting illuminates the bedroom all night which was a bit annoying.
