Sterzing im Südtirol - Posthotel Lamm in Sterzing - was willst du noch mehr
Pros:

Es handelt sich um eine grosses Hotel. Von der Besitzerfamilie ist mindestens immer eine Person anwesend. Dadurch fühle ich mich - trotz der Grösse - sehr zuhause.

Evitate l’appartamento

La disponibilità dello staff e la SPA

Cons:

Al momento della prenotazione non ci è stato detto che l’appartamento non si trova nella struttura alberghiera ma vi si accede da un ingresso separato sul corso principale che bisogna quindi attraversare se si vuole andare alla reception o al parcheggio (in accappatoio peraltro per andare alla SPA..). Data l’assenza di condizionatori è l’unico affaccio (il bagno e’ cieco) e’ necessario tenere le finestre aperte e ci sono terribili rumori di pulizia della strada e di scarico merci sin dall’alba (camioncini sostanzialmente sotto la finestra essendo al primo piano).

Cons:

If you park in the underground garage with a motorcycle, when leaving make sure to agree with the reception staff to look out for you and open the gate manually. If you don't, you risk waiting in a steep uphill for a car to trigger the sensor for automatic opening (which doesn't always notice motorcycle, ay least that was the explanation I was given).

Post Hotel Lamm was a mixed experience

Our stay at Post Hotel Lamm was a mixed experience, and unfortunately the negatives outweighed the positives.

The hotel has several strong points: an excellent central location, a pleasant bar and restaurant with friendly staff during the day and evening, and a very nice wellness area with saunas, steam rooms, whirlpool and a large pool. Breakfast offers a wide and generous selection, which we appreciated.

However, the quality of our accommodation did not match the premium pricing or the four‑star presentation of the hotel.

We were placed in the dependence building, which does not meet four‑star standards in any way. During very hot weather, the rooms were extremely uncomfortable, and despite requesting a fan, only one old, small and noisy fan was available — completely insufficient for the conditions. Additionally, we were not informed that construction work would begin at 7:00 AM right next to our room. The noise lasted all day, making it impossible to rest. Guests should be clearly notified about this before arrival.

What disappointed us the most was the attitude of the owner. When we approached him directly, his response was dismissive and unfriendly, essentially telling us that since we booked this through Booking.com, this is simply how it is. This kind of approach is not acceptable in a hotel that advertises itself as a premium establishment.

Overall, while the hotel has potential thanks to its wellness area and central location, our accommodation experience was far below expectations.
Guests should be careful about where they are placed, as the difference in quality is significant.
