Das Restaurant und die Berechnungstricks. Für nur die Vorspeise und Nachspeise = 2 courses wurden 30 £ berechnet (d.h. keine Hauptspeise, kleine Suppe und Vanilleeis). Das sind 8.50 £ mehr als ein Course als Haupspeise (22.50). Unfair. Die Antwort war, dass der Computer das so wolle. Ich empfehle allen 2 Coupés zu bestellen und zwar zwei mal die Hauptspeise. Dann gewinnt der Gast. Finde ich dann fair.

Could have blinds in the orchard for upstairs, only for the evening but I understand it might impact the stunning view.

De kamer, vooral de gebrekkige zaken als bijvoorbeeld de raam blindering en gebrek aan gezelligheid.
Voor £200 mag je toch wel iets meer verwachten.

Three (3) negatives outweigh the positives for us:

1. We unfortunately left behind a small purse that contained credit cards, health insurance cards and a few personal items. We called within hours of checking out and Tam was great and immediately found the purse and secured it in the hotel office. We were hours away from the hotel and could not return to pick up the purse, so he suggested we reach out to the owner using the email on the website to coordinate mailing it back. We sent a daily email without any response or acknowledgement from the hotel. We called the hotel again on Saturday and happened to catch the owner in the office. She indicated that she'd figure something out and let us know how much it would cost to get it back to the USA. (Note: It is a very small cross-body purse and could easily be shipped.) It is now late Monday night UK time and 4 emails have gone unanswered. She is holding our personal items hostage without reason and with zero communication. This lack of follow-through and care is reason alone for the low rating. I cannot in good conscience recommend an establishment where the owner/manager exhibits such a cavalier attiude towards her guests. For avoidance of all doubt, all communications have originated from us, she has NOT ONCE made an attempt to reach back out to us via email, phone etc

2. The roads leading to the hotel from both sides are the single-lane roads that you encounter in various parts of Scotland and make for some tense driving situations when you encounter other cars.

3. The birds are very loud if you are on the road-side of the hotel. Likely not an issue if you have one of the separate bungalows out back.

I have no complaints

First evening was nice. The hotel had been advised that my husband was diabetic and provided extra veg instead of potatoes. The next evening again was nice however there was a very limited menu. It appeared if you stayed more than 3 nights you would be repeating your choice of food as the menu did not seem to change. The food was lovely but a wider choice would have been appreciated.

Very disappointing stay – not as described

We stayed at Ardeonaig Hotel & Restaurant from 24–26 December 2025. On arrival on Christmas Eve, our lodge had been double booked, with another couple already inside, causing significant stress and disruption to our Christmas plans.

There was no Wi-Fi, the lodge was unclean (long black hair in the bathroom and bed), and there was visible mould on the bathroom walls and ceiling. The bathroom door handle was broken, making it unsafe to close. Despite raising these issues, no offer was made to move us to another lodge.

We were later offered a £50 discount on a future stay, despite the booking being non-refundable even when cancelling two weeks in advance, which felt inappropriate given the circumstances.

Overall, the accommodation and service were not as described, and the stay was very disappointing.

The room was very dated

The property is a bit tricky to get to - along a challenging single track road. But this is also a positive unless you plan to use this property as a touring base.
Our breakfast was over-cooked and gave the impression of having been kept hot too long or reheated

Limited hot food for breakfast.
We had to wait for check in not helped by being late in the season. They did ring ahead but some confusion on times but we got there in the end and they were helpful

Nothing not to like, but perhaps a positive suggestion for additional signage in the reception area for clearer directions down to the lower bar area would be helpful for guest orientation.
