We went out during the morning when we came back approx 3pm the room still hadn’t been touched!!! My husbands condition meant he had to rest so for 4 days room hadn’t been touched apart from what we requested

Friendly and very accommodating staff. Jill, the owner, was brilliant at sharing local knowledge and making me feel comfortable. Room was really lovely with a nice bathroom. Fan added for hot weather which made sleep much more comfortable. The location was perfect for me with lots of local amenities within walking distance. Free secure car parking.
The only disappointment, which seems to be out of control of the owners, was that the kitchen was closed for anything except breakfast due to some issues with council roadworks. This was not clear on booking.com but was clearly explained on The Black Swan's own website. Jill made me a dinner reservation in a local restaurant and suggested other places to get food to moderate for the inconvenience.
Stayed for 1 night as I was racing in the cycle race in Dalby Forest. Had a single room which was a little tight but functional. I have to say the room was very warm even though they supplied a fan. I guess we don't often get such high temperatures outside so not a common issue. They weren't able to offer dinner but arranged a table at a local Italian which was great. Breakfast good, lots of options and very tasty. My Saturday night stay coincided with the England World Cup match so they had a large screen outside in the courtyard which was a nice touch.
Warm/very warm room but it was hot outside and sun was shining into the room through the window. They supplied a fan but the room didn't really cool well into the night.

A classic English countryside inn with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Perfectly located right in the heart of Pickering, halfway between the historic train station and main bus stops. The pub in the hotel serves local gin varieties and the full English Breakfast was excellent as well.

The room was spacious, well decorated, and lots of light. The bed was comfortable. The lady who welcomed us was super efficient
