Not a luxury stay. Poor value for what you get. Excellent location and beautiful building though!

The location is excellent and the building is beautiful.

Cons:

Hallways poorly illuminated and decorated, felt like I was going down into a dungeon. Pillows are of poor quality. Furniture was stained or peeling. Showerhead looked like it was falling off.

Pros:

Stayed for one night before travelling onwards. Beautiful, unusual architecture. Comfortable bed, great breakfast. Our waiter at breakfast was very attentive.

A Little gem set in the hills above San Jose
Pros:

Part of the small luxury hotels of the world collection this is a little gem that deserves its place in these ranks; stellar location sitting above the San Jose valley in Escazu, one of the cities coolest suburbs. Not that you need to leave the hotel; you can enjoy a cool beer by the gorgeous pool, dine in comfort in the prime spot restaurant. We loved our overnight here at the start of a Costa Rica 🇨🇷 Grand Tour.

Little slow over dinner service, but we were a little jet lagged also….

Cute boutique hotel
Pros:

Very nice and elegant hotel, rooms a little dated but very clean and comfortable.
The gardens are quiet, full of greens and the pool is charming.
Close enough to the airport (of course, depending on the traffic, it can be between 20 and 60 minutes).
The restaurant is good and the food excellent.
The personnel is also very nice.
