Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, decent pub grub.
Pros:

Was on a motorbike trip so stopped at this pub on route. Friendly staff, decent food served and room to park the bike out front. Tea and coffee in the room, nice cafe up the road.

Overnight stay August 2026
Pros:

Location was great in a lovely village. Very quiet. Room was clean and bar staff friendly.

Cons:

The mattress had uncomfortable springs sticking up which made it difficult to get comfortable. There was no breakfast available as they were short staffed. The bathroom was very shabby and in need of an upgrade and redecoration. Peeling paint on woodwork, sealant on shower tray had black mould on it and looked as though it had been poorly sealed over the top of previous sealant numerous times. The towel rail wasn't fixed to the wall properly and fell off. TV didn't work. Was unable to tune it in to any program.

Good location. Not great value for money.
Pros:

Nice location in nice village. Good dog friendly rooms and dog friendly bar. Good outdoor seating area upstairs. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Lighting in room was not great. Hard to see to read. Would have liked a comfortable chair instead of having to sit on the bed. For £70 a night I really would expect to have breakfast included

Stayed before and will stay again
Pros:

Shower was fine although a bit hard to operate. Room was ok in terms of all the trimmings. Bar stayed open till 11pm and leave by 11.30pm!

Cons:

I was in a loft conversation so you had to be careful with your head - suggest adding cushion material to struts you can easily head butt! We were not warned even though I asked to pay on arrival for breakfast, that there was no staff to make it and first place that opens was 9pm not good when hiking 24 miles!
