Nice clean room. Friendly staff but not serving food on the Friday evening as they had an event on but advised us where to get something to eat locally.
Unable to connect to the WiFi unfortunately.
All the staff here were exceptionally friendly . The room was clean and comfortable and the food was perfect for what we wanted . The price was really good and it’s the perfect place for a base for seeing the dales
The stairs to the bedrooms would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues
Place was nice, pub was cozy.
I enjoyed the stay fully
We had a decent sized room with a decent king sized bed, although the mattress wasn't the most comfortable we've slept in. The room was very well equipped with all the finishing touches you need - the tea and coffee + bathroom toiletries, and good cupboard space.. The staff were helpful, and friendly, especially the breakfast staff at the weekend. It was informal rather than posh, and we were OK with that. Good value evening food. The breakfast fare was a little limited but it was a very good cooked breakfast, plenty of it and always more if you asked for it.
You just have to bear in mind it is a pub, so there is a certain amount of noise coming from the bar below and from people sitting outside, drinking and eating, although it didn't particularly disturb us.
Food service was a little slow, but worth the wait.
Surprisingly lovely room in a small local pub
Lovely place to stay over the local pub. Staff were lovely, manager was very warm and friendly and the food was great. Best chips in the UK!
The room was clean and comfortable
The music kept the going for to long and was to loud. Attic room was very hot in the May heat, and music made it impossible to sleep.
Dinner and breakfast was delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room was large with a very comfortable four poster bed, kitchen and bathroom.
Location of hotel is ideal in a gorgeous location
DJ playing late on bank holiday weekend. Worth double checking if it's not your thing.
Clean, friendly staff lovely dinner
Guest experience could be enhanced with hooks to hang towels in bathroom, soap and shower rack in shower and cillit bang black mould removed in shower tile grout! didn't like tinned tomatoes at breakfast - just a personal thing? I love cooked tomatoes not tinned ones
Breakfast was amazing, nice staff
Great location and welcoming staff
The mattress was a bit firm
Stays 2 nights - Access to the accommodation was easy and staff member that greeted us on arrival was very helpful shouted us to a beer as our room was not ready after check in time. Food was great also
Room was not ready at 4pm check in time. Didn’t get into room until 5pm. Service at restaurant in pub was not great second night
Everything, the staff were superb, very welcoming and happy to help. Food was excellent and very homely.
Nothing.
Check in was relatively easy, picked up the key from the bar. Harvey showed us to our rooms and how to get in and out. There was a separate entrance on the side so we didnt need to use the pub to get into our room. The rooms were clean just a bit outdated and shower was leaking onto the bar
This is advertised as a Pub but it was more like the village nightclub. The music and chatter didnt stop until 2a.m. They advertise that the walls are soundproof but dont get fooled, if you are staying at this accommodation, be prepared to not sleep due to the noise levels. We could hear the bass past 12, our friends did not sleep until 2a.m due to the ongoing music and noise level too. The bathroom was leaking onto the bar after I was in the shower for a little while. They said they'd give us another room do my partner kept waiting for someone to come, when no one came after 20 minutes he went down just to find out that there were no other rooms available so they told us to carry on with the shower. Problem is now that we knew the shower was leaking it was hard to take a leisurely shower. It was in out because we didn't want to cause more damage.
I would say if you stay here be prepared not to sleep until 2a.m. and if you are using this as a base from which to explore the peak district and hike just DON'T.
Location is good and Tideswell is a lovely small town.
I stayed at this property expecting a restful weekend, especially since it was advertised as having soundproof walls. Unfortunately, that was far from the reality.
For two consecutive nights, I was unable to sleep until around 2am due to extremely loud noise coming from the bar area. The noise levels were so intense that even earplugs made no difference. It genuinely felt as though I was staying inside the bar itself rather than in a separate, private room.
The lack of proper soundproofing made the experience very stressful and exhausting. Instead of a relaxing break, my weekend turned into a frustrating and sleepless stay.
I would strongly suggest that the property either improve its soundproofing or be more honest in its description, as the current situation does not match what is being advertised.

Very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.
We liked that it is dog friendly and we were able to bring our two pooches who really enjoyed being in the bar area in the evening in front of an open fire. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the food was good including the breakfast. All in all it was an enjoyable stay.
The rooms are a little dated, but this is not a deal breaker.
