Probably the best experience I ever had for this type of money. If you are planning to visit cat island (tashirojima), there is no better place to stay at then Tama Hotel. The whole experience from being introduced to all cats living in the next door building, being able to feed and pet them over to the amazing hospitality of the hotel owner who was making sure to drive every guest to the ferry port and pick them up afterwards again, simply amazing hospitality!

The room itself was also very spacious, clean and comfortable! Thank you very much Tama Hotel <3

A great stay!
Pros:

We loved the owner. You can see he really really loves what he does. He is the best!
He took us to the restaurant and back, took us to get the ferry boat and back, took us to a pastry shop, explains a bit about the area….and he fosters cats and gives a lot of love. Everything in the hotel is about cats….and Elvis!

Cons:

If I really have to find a thing that didn’t love is the bed. The first night was great, the second night I personally felt it a bit too hard yet I was able to sleep.

Perfect if going to the Cat Island

Owner was so nice and gave us a little tour before driving us to the port to see the Cat Island

Room was pretty small. I believe we got a love hotel room which was a little uncomfortable because I was traveling with a friend.

Incontournable pour les amoureux des chats
Pros:

Notre passage au Tama Hotel restera l'un de nos meilleurs souvenirs au Japon.
Le patron a fait preuve d'une immense gentillesse, et a été plus qu'aux petits soins avec nous.
Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'écouter nous partager sa passion pour les chats, des histoires sur le Japon et en particulier la ville d'Ishinomaki. Il nous a également conseillé un incroyable Izakaya où nous avons pu déguster des produits locaux délicieux.
Un homme rare, comme on en rencontre peu.
Si nous avons l'occasion de revenir au Japon, il serait impensable de ne pas revenir au Tama Hotel.

Pros:

The host was extremely nice. He insisted on taking us to, and from the harbour (we went to the cat island). He also gave us a ride to one of the izakayas we had selected. Highly recommend.

Pros:

A fantastic place to stay. A unique experience to be able to hang out with the cats and a very comfortable hotel. The owner/managers and very kind and helpful and have thought of everything to ensure a great stay. The lifts to and from the ferry to Tashiro island, with a stop for baked goods, the bicycles available to borrow and the overall kindness is wonderful, Definitely a place to stay for a unique Japanese experience.
