Location but needs car, large room, daily cleaning and towel replacement, nice pool, great view,
Needs some renovation, breakfast, no black coffee,
Buona posizione.
Excellent little gem. Having booked 1 night we ended up staying for 3nights. It just got better and better. The location was just 5mins drive from Cannigione with lots of lovely restaurants, picnic areas on the coast and also 5 mins from an excellent beach called Mannena. Staff were very friendly - especially very cheerful Giovanni. You definitely need a car, the quadruple room was perfect for our family and the pool with umbrellas and natural shade was clean and a good size. We never struggled to find sun beds. Thank you 🙏
The rooms could have plug sockets suitable for putting adapters in but this is a small point!
Personale gentilissimo e disponibilissimo, colazione molto varia e abbondante, molto buona..
Unterkunft, zimmer Pool Balkon Aussicht
What a beautiful, charming and extraordinary hotel to visit. The place is a visual dream and I spent time just looking at all the amazing artefacts - it contains fabulous art work, carpets and items from North Africa - it reminded me of Morocco. The way the place is set out over the hillside, there are spectacular views and shaded areas between the 'bungalows' that are part of the accommodation. It is easy to get lost at first though if you're in one of the bungalows. There are also many steps which with cases was a bit exhausting. The style of the rooms is very much 'Sardinian' and like most Italian hotels a bit dated. However, this is the Costa Smerelda - if you want a modern, swanky hotel you must pay much more than we did! The pool is probably the best I've ever had the pleasure of using - the view is to die for. We had the pool to ourselves most of the morning. We're told you can bathe there 24/7 and there's even a pool bar. Tina and her son Giovanni were incredibly warm and welcoming. We arrived late one evening and didn't realise the restaurant closed at 10pm. We went out in the car to go and get something to eat in town, but due to patchy internet reception, got lost and ended up back at Micalosu! The amazing Tina managed to rustle something up from the kitchen at 10.50 at night and really saved us.
Practically - the parking is good, but make sure you park in the outside parking lot at first as the parking lot inside the hotel has a tight entrance on one side which was tricky in the dark. I want a hotel to be clean, comfortable with a decent shower. I'd say all three were reasonable here, but because it's in the country side the pesky sugar ants were inside the room. Bathroom facilities were a bit dated - the hairdryer was a bizarre contraption I've never seen before. I would've wanted a room safe too as the bungalows could be easy to get into and take items as there's barely anyone around during the day. The breakfast was AMAZING!! The best we had in Sardinia and we went to some 4 star hotels. A wide variety of quality produced. The wholemeal croissant with apricot puree was the best croissant I've ever tasted. The selection of cheeses was incredible. The only thing I would change is to have fresh coffee and not a machine.
I would suggest this hotel go more exclusive and Adults Only as the pool and steps are not really for children. I think that could increase demand as there didn't seem to be many people there. Oh, there's a billiard (or snooker?) table in the basement which we sadly didn't get to try out.
Would I go back - yes, it is a divine hotel with incredible staff.
