Staff were super friendly, polite and professional. Breakfast was one of the best, fresh and piled high.
I'm guessing the place is in mid maintenance as everything looked and felt part finished and some slightly odd smelling rooms mmmmmm but it was comfortable and clean (I've been to a lot worse)
Great place to stay if you are visiting The Forest Of Dean. The rooms compare favourably with some of the hotels I have stayed at previously. The bathroom had a new and modern shower and the double divan bed was very comfortable. Would stay there again.
A wardrobe would have been nice.

The building was in a bad state of repair, kitchen was closed so food, room was also not clean and not even a bar of soap in the bathroom I was so disgusted. I handed them back my key and left. I then had to find another place to stay which cost me another £78.

Arrived and kitchen was being revamped ... we were not informed BUT after advice and info from staff we manged to go out for food so all well .
Good location, comfortable bed
When we arrived there was NO kitchen facilities so we had to find somewhere else to eat, at the time if booking we was not told about this!
NO ice in the pub and NO southern comfort.
Also in hallway to bedroom there was a distinctive smell of wet dog and wee, so we only stayed the one night. What a difference it is since the last time we stayed here.
Place looks scruffy from the outside as you approach, needs repainting, hand rail lose at top of stairs

Very welcoming, rooms were lovely- recently refurbished- breakfast was excellent.

When I saw the place I was going to run, then I noticed a sign Under renovation,the interior is much better than the outside. When you're on vacation you need to have a sleep in, alas not here well not if you want breakfast. The bar/lounge was closed by 8.30pm. the stairs yet with all of this it's a nice place

We were in the middle of a heatwave and it was really hot. The bedroom window didn’t open far.
Not a criticism as everyone in the UK was struggling with the heat.
