Gastvrij hotel aan de Via Francigena, met prachtig uitzicht maar wel wat gedateerd
Pros:

Ik verbleef hier tijdens mijn Via Francigena, op mijn laatste avond in de Alpen voordat ik vanuit Orsières met de trein naar huis reisde. De ligging is uitstekend: aan de Via Francigena en op korte loopafstand van het station.

Ik had een verrassend ruime kamer met een eigen balkon en prachtig uitzicht op de bergen van Au Pays du Saint-Bernard. ’s Ochtends met een kop koffie op het balkon, terwijl de eerste zon op de bergtoppen viel, was een mooie afsluiting van mijn tocht door de Alpen.

De gastheer was erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. Het ontbijt was prima: lekker brood, croissant, ham, yoghurt, fruit, jus d’orange en goede sterke koffie. Een bijzonder sympathiek gebaar: toen ik bij het afrekenen vertelde dat ik de Via Francigena liep, kreeg ik spontaan CHF 3 korting op het ontbijt en betaalde ik CHF 8,50 in plaats van CHF 11,50. Dat had ik tijdens mijn pelgrimstocht nog niet eerder meegemaakt!

De slaapkamer is eenvoudig maar deels gemoderniseerd, alles functioneerde goed en de televisie had zelfs Engelstalige zenders. Alles bij elkaar vond ik het een prettig en gastvrij verblijf, waarbij vooral de ruime kamer, het balkon, het bergzicht en de persoonlijke benadering positief zijn bijgebleven.

Cons:

Met €110 voor één nacht zonder ontbijt vind ik de kamer niet goedkoop. Voor dat bedrag mag het hotel op sommige punten wel wat gemoderniseerd worden.

Vooral de badkamer is behoorlijk gedateerd en lijkt rechtstreeks uit de jaren zestig te komen. Alles was wel schoon en functioneerde prima.

Sehr freundlicher und sehr hilfsbereiter Wirt. Zimmer sehr sauber. Preis/Leistung stimmt. Velos sind gut und sicher untergebracht. Gutes Frühstück. Alles bestens.

Pros:

The accommodation was excellent. My wife and I stayed here during our Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) hike. The owner was very helpful, both with finding transport to the trail and with checking the weather for the following day.

The breakfast was plentiful and included coffee, tea, orange juice, fresh bread, croissants, butter, jam, yogurt, and fruit.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. We can highly recommend this place!

This is a perfect little gem hotel . The owner is so nice,helpful and has a great sense of humour. Thank you for a lovely welcome and recommendation for the hike. Breakfast was delicious too. I will certainly be back if I am in the area again.
